Ali held onto Harry's hand tightly as Hagrid lead them into The Leaky Cauldron and Harry held onto her's just as tight.
"Hagrid, what exactly is this place?" Harry asked, looking up at all very tall man.
"This is the The Leaky Cauldron kids. Very famous among the witches n' wizards who live 'round 'ere."
Harry looked around and saw some old woman sitting in a corner, drinking tiny glasses of sherry and an old man was smoking a pipe. He guessed that this was some kind of pub which made him a little more nous than before. He didn't want Ali to be around this kind of stuff, especially at such a young age.
"Yeh want the usual Hagrid?" The bartender asked as he reached for a glass. Ali looked up at him and a tiny smile creeped on her face. He was really bald and had almost no teeth and he looked like a walnut.
Hagrid shook his. "Can't Tom, I'm on Hogwarts business." He told him, placed a hand on the siblings shoulders.
The bartender looked down at them and his eyes widened. "Bless my soul, it's Harry and Alison Potter." He said in utter disbelief.
All the low chatter immediately ceased and everyone turned to look at the Potters. Ali tried to hide behind Harry and pressed herself as close to him as she could. Harry instinctively wrapped an arm around her tightly and held her close.
The bartender rushed over and shook their hands. "What an honor, what an hour." He muttered to himself then looked at the children with tears swimming in his eyes. "Welcome back."
Suddenly everyone was on their feet and rushing over to shake the young children's hands. Harry could really do nothing but sit there and shake every hand thrown at him and nod politely when a person told them their name or how much of an honor it was to be standing in front of them.
But his main concern was Ali. The only time she was ever involved in a crowd was usually because Dudley's gang had gotten to her and was teasing her and mocking her.
He felt her scurry behind him and press her face into his lower back, not liking all this attention one bit.
"Oh what a shy little thing." He heard one of the old woman say with a huge smile.
A ghostly white young man made his way over and he seemed very nervous. When Harry looked up at him he noticed that one of the man's eyes were twitching.
"H-Harry a-and A-Alison P-Potter." The man stammered out.
Hagrid smiled. "Hello Professor Quirrell. Harry, Professor Quirrell will be one of yur teachers at Hogwarts."
He grasped Harry's hand. "C-can't t-tell you how p-pleased I am to m-meet y-you."
"What do you teach Professor?" Harry asked while rubbing Ali's back to try to soothe her.
"D-defense A-against the D-Dark Arts." Quirrell muttered. "N-not t-that either of y-you really n-need it a-ay?" He laughed nervously then scurried off.
Hagrid put a hand on Harry's shoulder and addressed the crowd. "Must be off now. Lots ter buy for school. Let's go."
Harry decided that carrying Ali out would be the best way to keep up with Hagrid as he weaved through the crowd. She clutched his shirt with her hands and laid her head on his shoulder.
They stopped in front of a brick wall and the siblings watched in amazement as Hagrid tapped certain ones and and wall magically disappeared and they saw what was on the other side.
"Welcome, to Diagon Alley." Hagrid grinned.

Harry walked into a shop that had a sign over the door that read Ollicanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C. making sure to keep a tight grip on Ali's hand so she wouldn't wander off and get lost.
