"Are you sure about this?" Draco asked as Alison climbed into the large bed he was already lying in.
"When they have meetings that go this late many of them will stay the night and just go into whatever spare guest room they want. I don't want any of them accidentally walking into the one you're sleeping in." She said as she laid down and rolled onto her side to face him. "And besides this bed is huge, it's not like we're on top of each other. We'd could probably fit a whole other person here so don't you dare offer to sleep on the ground again." She snapped when he opened his mouth.
He quickly snapped it shut then sighed a little as he reached over and stroked her cheek with his thumb. "I missed you." He whispered softly. "So much."
Alison smiled a little and leaned slightly into his touch. "I missed you too. Why didn't you tell me about the mission, Draco? Why didn't you tell me what was really going on?"
"You would've told Dumbledore. Or Harry. And if they found out I would've been killed." He shrugged his shoulders.
"We could've protected you." Alison slid closer and put her hand in his face, trying to get him to understand. "You heard what Dumbledore said in the Tower, we could've hidden you and your mother. You didn't have to go through all that alone."
Draco sighed and shook his head. "I couldn't risk it." He whispered. "Telling you would've put you in danger too. And that's something I'm not willing to do." He told her firmly.
She nodded and brushed some blond hair from his forehead, it got gotten a bit longer than he usually kept it. She watched his eyes fall to her lips and linger for a moment before returning to her eyes. He began to lean forward to kiss her.
Alison had almost let him. But something had been nagging her in the back of her mind for awhile and she leaned away slightly, biting her lip when Draco suddenly pulled back looking confused and almost... scared.
"Why did you fight my brother in the bathroom?" She asked. It was something she had asked him before, back when he was recovering in the hospital wing at school, but he'd fall asleep or mumble something incoherent for an answer. Something she was beginning to wonder if he'd done on purpose.
Draco looked confused. "Ali... he started the fight remember? He attacked me and I retaliated."
"But you were the one who pulled their wand out first." She pointed out. "Then Harry grabbed his and attacked you. If you had kept your wand away he might not have attacked you at all."
"He came bursting into the bathroom screaming at me, of course I was going to pull my wand out!" Draco defended himself.
"And when he fell you were going to use the Cruciatus curse on him!" Alison glared at him as she sat up.
"He almost killed me!" Draco yelled and pushed himself up too, wincing at the pain in his arm and his, what he was now thinking were broken, ribs.
"He didn't know what that spell did! He just found it written in a book and wasn't thinking! You were about to use an Unforgivable spell! The torture curse on him!" She shouted.
They both jumped when they heard footsteps approaching the room and Draco dove from on top of the bed to under it just before Sirius opened the door and flicked the light on. Remus and Tonks stood just behind him.
"Alison are you alright? We heard yelling." Tonks asked as they walked in, looking around the room with a hand on her large belly that looked ready to pop at any moment.
Alison wiped her wet eyes and nodded. "I'm fine, just a nightmare that's all." She said quietly, her voice hurting from yelling.
"Are you sure you're alone?" Remus asked, eyes sweeping over the room still. "I thought I heard someone else's voice too."
