"If anyone in here has any knowledge of Mr. Potter's movements this evening," Snape drawled our, looking around the Great Hall at all the students who seemed fascinated by the stone flooring. "I invite them to step forward. Now!"

The room was absolutely silent and still, no one dared to move. No one dared to breathe.

Before he could say anything else, however, the person stepped out of line, standing between the group of Gryffindor's and Ravenclaws.

The room filled with gasps and whispers as Harry Potter stood before Severus Snape, Gryffindor robes over his jeans, t-shirt, and jacket, looking disgusted at the man before him.

"It seems, despite your exhaustive defensive strategies, you still have a security problem, Headmaster."

Everyone turned to the Great Hall doors as they swung open, the Order and the D.A. walking into the room with their wands ready as they fanned out behind Harry.

Harry smirked. "I'm afraid it's quite extensive." His smirk faded into a look of absolute hatred. "How dare you stand where he stood? Tell them how it happened that night! Tell them how you looked him in the eye... a man who trusted you... and killed him. Tell them!"

Snape pulled out his wand and aimed for Harry, but Professor McGonagall pushed the boy aside, her wand to Snape's chest. The room filled with gasps and whispers once more as the students parted, pressing themselves up against the wall to get out of the way as McGonagall threw several spells at Snape which he all dodged. Just before he turned and flew away in a cloud of smoke, two of her spells hit the Carrow's, rendering them unconscious on the floor.

The Great Hall erupted in cheers as the students surrounded Harry and the Order. But the celebration only lasted a minute. The room suddenly darkened, the magical sky overhead darkening and thundering softly.

Harry groaned as he fell to the floor, his scar burning once more. Ginny and McGonagall were at his sides, but the only thing he could focus on was Voldemort's voice as it filled the room.

Harry Potter... I know that many of you will want to fight. Some of you might even think to fight is wise. But this is folly. Give me Harry Potter. Do this and none shall be harmed. Give me Harry Potter, and I shall leave Hogwarts untouched. Give me Harry Potter, and you will be rewarded. You have one hour.

A couple piercing screams rang out from different sides of the room, but there was only one that Harry recognized. One that he ran to immediately.

Sirius and Draco were kneeling on the floor beside Alison who was covering her ears and screaming. He glanced over his shoulder and saw a young Ravenclaw girl doing the same thing in a corner of the room and one of the Patil twins standing a few feet from him also covering her ears and screaming.

"Ali?" He grabbed his sister's shoulders and shook her gently. "Alison!"

Suddenly all three girl's screams fell silent and their hands slowly fell from their ears. Harry grabbed onto Alison's hands and slowly helped her to her feet.

"What're you waiting for?" He turned to the other side of the room where Pansy Parkinson's voice called. "Someone grab him!"

Ginny and Alison immediately stood between the rest of the students and Harry, the rest of the D.A. and the Order following suit, their wands clutched tightly in their hands.

"Students out of bed!"

The room parted again as Mr. Filch came running into the room, carrying his cat in way that Harry was sure it couldn't breathe properly.
