Draco had finally begun to relax once it was the end of April and they'd gotten through the second half of the school year with very few incidents. Alison had only gotten a couple more detentions and they weren't nearly as bad as that first time when she had a panic attack. And Draco had made sure he was waiting right outside the door to make sure she was alright.

The Carrows were pushing back even harder, in class and in punishments. No one spoke up in their classes anymore and no one tried to speak up about what they were teaching was wrong, too afraid of getting punished.

The Slytherins, much to Draco's annoyance, never got punished by them. No matter what they did, what rules they broke, they were praised by the Death Eater teachers and even the headmaster instead of being punished like everyone else. While there was a small part of him that was grateful he didn't have to endure the same horrific torture the other students had to go through. The other, larger part of him knew that wasn't fair at all.

While Draco has gone into the school year knowing full well his school life wasn't going to be the same as before since his views on Purebloods versus everyone else had pretty much done a full one-eighty since meeting Ali, he hadn't expected it to be quite this different.

He had barely talked to Crabbe and Goyle all year and they no longer followed him around, basically obeying his every command. Pansy still annoyed him with her presence sometimes, but not nearly as much as she used to. And when she did, it was often to get him to try to switch back to his old ways. The other Slytherin's often whispered behind his back in a very obvious way and didn't quiver to their knees whoever he snapped back at them like they used to.

Blaise really was the only friend he still had despite them not even being that close before. While they didn't speak much around the school, he was the only Slytherin who sat by him at meal times and they'd often talk and do homework together in their common room and dormitory.

Draco tried to not let it get to him though. After all, he had made so many other friends during the newly reformed Dumbledore's Army. Friends he couldn't talk to outside the Room of Requirement much in fear the Carrows or the other Death Eaters would get too suspicious, but friends nonetheless.

That was another thing he had really worried about at first. Most of the students he hadn't been the kindest too in the previous years. But they had forgiven him, some taking a bit longer than others but he didn't blame them for that, and treated him like their equal. Like he had been on their side all along.

They had just finished a D.A. lesson on healing, taught just by Luna as Ginny had gone into hiding with the rest of her family since the Voldemort and the Death Eaters knew for sure that Ron was with and helping Harry Potter, and Alison was in the dungeons with the Carrows. For what, he wasn't quite sure.

Her friend, Sarah, had told him was Alecto had asked her to come down to their office after classes and she wouldn't give a reason as to why. That worried Draco quite a bit if he was being honest. He had asked Blaise to stay close to the dungeons to keep an eye and an ear out for her just in case, and he was the exact person running down the hall towards Draco, Seamus, Dean, and Luna as they were leaving the Room of Requirement.

"You guys have to come see this!" Zabini panted once he reached them, his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath. "They've gone mad!"

Alison had been nervous about going down to talk to the Carrows, but hadn't been too worried because they were still teachers who had to abide by certain rules, right? She hadn't expected Dolores Umbridge to also be down in the dungeons with the two Death Eaters, a mad look in her eye and a terribly fake, sweet smile on her face.
