Important Announcement at the end as to why I've been on a bit of a hiatus!!

"You have these." Harry said to Ginny as he handed her the stack of free books Gilderoy Lockhart had given to him. "I'll buy my own-"

"Bet you loved that, didn't you Potter?" Harry whirled around and pushed Alison behind him as he came face-to-face with a sneering Draco Malfoy.

"Famous Harry Potter." Malfoy continued. "Can't even go into a bookshop without making the front page."

"Leave him alone." Alison glared up at the blond. She tried to step towards him, but her brother's arm around her held her back.

Ginny stepped towards the Slytherin instead, her eyes narrowed and glinting dangerously. "He didn't want all that!"

"Potter, you've got yourself a girlfriend!" Malfoy laughed. Ginny's face went red and her eyes immediately dropped to the floor. Ron walked up behind her and glared at the blonde boy.

"Oh, it's you." He rolled his eyes and adjusted his grip on the stack of books in his arms. "Bet you're surprised to see Harry here, eh?"

"Not as surprised as I am to see you in a shop, Weasley," The blonde turned to look at Ron. "I suppose your parents will go hungry for a month to pay for all those."

Ron's face went as red as Ginny's and he dropped his books as he started towards Malfoy. Harry and Hermione had to grab his jacket to hold him back while Ginny and Alison knelt down to pick up his books.

"There you all are!" Mr. Weasley pushed his way through the crowd to get to them, Fred and George right behind him. "What are you doing? It's too crowded in here, let's go outside."

"Well, well, well - Arthur Weasley." A man who had the same blonde hair and grey eyes as Malfoy came up behind his son and placed a hand on his shoulder.

Mr. Weasley's entire demeanor shifted and his back straightened. "Lucious." He nodded coldly.

"Busy time at the Ministry, I hear. All those raids.. I hope they're paying you overtime?" Lucious raised an eyebrow as he grabbed an old and obviously very used picture book in Alison's arms Mrs. Weasley had bought her.

"Obviously not. Dear me, what's the use of being a disgrace to the name of wizard if they don't even pay you well for it?" He smirked.

Mr. Weasley's face went redder than his children's had. "We have a very different idea of what disgraces the name of wizard, Malfoy."

"Clearly." Mr. Malfoy glanced over at Hermione's parents chatting away in the corner of the shop. "The company you keep, Weasley... and I thought your family could sink no lower-"

Alison let out a startled shriek when Mr. Weasley had suddenly thrown himself at Mr. Malfoy, knocking over a large stack of books on top of them.

"Get him, Dad!" One of the twins yelled.

"No, Arthur, no!" Mrs. Weasley shrieked.

"Break it up, there, gents, break it up-" Hagrid waded through the sea of people and books. He pulled Mr. Weasley and Mr. Malfoy apart in an instant. Mr. Weasley had a cut on his lip while Mr. Malfoy was sporting a black eye.

Mr. Malfoy was still holding Alison's book and he thrust it at her, his eyes burning with anger. "Here, girl - take your book - it's the best you can get." He pulled himself out of Hagrid's grip then straightened his robes.

"Come, Draco." He gestured for his son to follow him as he swept out of the shop.

Everyone was downstairs fawning over their new school supplies while Alison sat alone in the room she shared with Ginny.
