"Will... you... stop... eating!" Hermione said between smacks as she hit Ron with one of her books.
When Alison had gotten off the train she had felt very bad about her outburst and went to go apologize. But when she found the group on the platform she saw Harry wasn't with them. They told her shortly after she had left Harry had announced he needed some air and also left without returning.
"He's probably already inside." Ron had said then led the group to the carriages. But now they were eating in the Great Hall and Harry still hadn't shown up.
"Why don't you turn around, you lunatic." Ron said as he rubbed his arm, looking at something behind her.
The three girls and Neville turned and saw Harry quickly walking towards them, holding a small cloth to his very bloody nose.
"He's covered in blood again." Ginny said with a frown, scooting over to make room for him. "Why is it he's always covered in blood?"
"Looks like it's his own this time." Alison said, scooting over as well so he could sit between the two.
"Where have you been?" Hermione whispered, an annoyed look on her face.
"What happened to your face?" Alison asked but her brother shook his head.
"Later." He whispered as Dumbledore stood to speak.
"Very best of evenings to you all." He greeted with a smile as he stepped up to the podium.
Alison grabbed them cloth from her brother's hand and dipped it into one of the extra water glasses then gently wiped a spot from his face he had missed.
"Thanks Ali." He whispered with a small smile as he pressed the cloth to his still aching nose again.
"First off, let me introduce the newest member of our staff. Horace Slughorn. Professor Slughorn, I'm happy to say, has agreed to resume his old post... as Potions Master. Meanwhile, the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts will be taken by Professor Snape." The Headmaster continued.
The Slytherin table erupted in applause and cheers, the only ones to. Alison glanced over at them and frowned when she saw a certain blonde Slytherin sitting with his head in his hand little further away from the rest of them, looking lonely and distant.
She tuned out the rest of Dumbledore's speech as she thought back to her time in Malfoy Manor. She knew Draco had seen her being... "interrogated" by his aunt and Voldemort. She had seen glimpses of platinum blonde in dark doorways. He happened to walk by once, his grey eyes locking with her green ones momentarily before his snapped to ahead of him and he walked much faster to the doorway on the other side of the room.
She jumped when she felt a hand on her shoulder and she looked at her brother who was now staring at her with worried eyes while everyone else around them was getting up to leave.
"Are you okay?" He asked then glanced over at Malfoy who he had noticed her staring at for quite some time. "Was he there?" He dropped his voice to a whisper, his grip on her shoulder tightening. "Did he do something to you?"
She rolled her eyes and pushed his hand off as she stood up. "He didn't do anything to me. And no he wasn't there." She told him before turning and following Ginny out.
