~Snow's (POV)~

Again I wake up in Blake's room only this time I wake up entangled with him.

He's got to stop doing this.

Untangling myself from his hold is harder than I thought it would be. Thank God he's not on top of me, unlike last time. I manage to slowly slide my arms and legs from where they meet him and crawl to the edge of the bed. Then fall off with a soft thud.

Who ever said cat's were graceful obviously hadn't met me.

I poke my head up just enough to see Blake. I do a small victory dance when I notice he's still sleeping (more like wiggle.) Tip toeing to the door I walk out and quietly shut the door behind me. Only then do I notice I'm wearing nothing but my underwear and an over-sized shirt that smells much like Blake.

Oh well, I've been in worse.

Walking down the flight of stairs, again, I keep going until I reach the kitchen. There, sitting at the island eating cereal is Xena. I gave her a kiss on the cheek as I walk by to look for something to eat. Opening the fridge I peer in and grab a yogurt and some blueberries.

I sit on the opposite side of the island and we continue to eat in silence for a bit. I got really curious though and wanted to know how it went.

"So... How'd it go?"

She gives one soul shattering look and bursts out into tears.

I didn't think it would be this bad.  I mean Xavier's really nice.

"What did Xavier do?"

Can I just say that sobbing and talking doesn't mix. Good thing I could understand her.

"It wasn't him. It was me. You know how I am, I'm awkward and cold at best. I can't have a mate, I'd be horrible to him and I wouldn't even mean too. He's better off without me."

I pull her into a hug and rub her back whispering sweet words into her ear. When she calmed down enough to understand me I begin to tell her how wrong she is.

"Xena you're not awkward and cold. Okay maybe you're a lil bit awkward, but you know what? You're a good person and you're naturally kind and protective of those you love. You think you're awkward? Then let him be outgoing for you. You think you're cold? Let him warm you up. You think you're horrible and he's better off without you then you wouldn't have been given a mate. No one's perfect Xena. Why don't you give him a chance to be the perfection to your imperfections?"

Now if only I could follow that advice.

Xena had stopped crying somewhere in there and now she's silent. I hug her tighter to me, giving her the warmth and love that she silently asks of me.

"Snow I have to go."

It takes me a second for me to realize what she means and I sigh.

She's been summoned.

"How long?"

"I don't know it seems dangerous this time."

"Do you want me to go?"

I already know her answer beforehand but its still nice to ask.

"No, you stay here."

"At least tell Xavier so he knows you'll come back."

She nods her head but other wise stays silent. We migrate to the living room where we cuddle on the couch and fall asleep.

...

I awake later to yelling and running feet. Peeling my eyes open I notice three things. The yelling is mostly from Xavier, almost everyone is running around and Xena isn't where she was when we went to sleep.

It's at that moment when I realize Xena had already left and she didn't tell anyone.

Not fully awake I slowly get up and blind-man walk toward Xavier. When I get to him I latch onto him so I don't fall on the floor.

Ignoring Blake's warning growl I direct all my concentration onto Xavier.

"She leave without telling you anything?"

I feel him stiffen and I know I got a jackpot.

"Damn it! I was hoping she wouldn't. Oh well."

"What do you mean by leaving and why didn't you tell me?"

"Don't get your panties in a twist, she'll be back and I didn't say anything because it's not my place to tell."

Picking myself up I turn and blind-man walk back to the living room, all while beckoning them to follow. When I get there I plop back down in the place I had left and wait for them to sit before speaking up.

"She was summoned for a mission. It's an option and a curse she chose to bear for being as powerful as she."

Both Blake and Xavier look mighty confused, but really this has to do with Xavier so I focused more on him.

"What do you mean option? Curse?"

"When she was first deemed the most powerful witch the council figured the only way to control and make sure she didn't abuse that power was to make sure she was on a tight leash. Don't get me wrong she can get out any time she wants, but she figures it's only fair and goes along with it to please them. Basically speaking she does all their dirty work and they keep her on a rusted, tight leash that she could but wont break and they take advantage of that."

It takes a little while for Xavier to speak and by that time I think he more or less gets it.

"When is she coming back?"

"I don't know. No more than two days."

"And you're sure she'll come back."

"Positive."

He nods in understanding but I'm not so sure he believes it. Honestly neither am I, I have a feeling it'll end horribly this time.

He gets up to leave and I go with him. I'm mad at Blake for what he did to me last night.

So I spend the rest of the day avoiding him and playing with Rose.

It's not like he can do anything about it, he has alpha duties.
