Finding A Home Amongst The Wolves

My eyes open and with a yawn I sit up. Covering my mouth I look around the room that I'm in because I don't remember how exactly I got there. While I do that the room door opens and in walks Danny.

"Well hello there sleeping beauty. Nice of you to wake up after all the work you guys made us do carrying you to bed."

"What do you mean? How long was I out?"

"That ceremony was just freaky to watch and after you gave us glowing eyes you all just collapsed. Not that long though, a couple hours actually."

"What do you mean glowing eyes?"

"Well one second we were standing around watching you guys, although you guys didn't actually do anything and then the next second you all had glowing eyes and when I turned to look at everyone else so did they. Neat huh? "

I was a little bit confused. I mean come on, they didn't hear all the chanting and see all the blood flying around? How exactly is that possible?

Pushing the blankets off of me I turn so my feet touch the floor and go to get up. Lifting myself up with my arms they were a bit jiggly but I managed to stand up. Staying up, that was another thing entirely. 

Holding my arms out for balance I stand still until my legs get used to my weight again before slowly moving forward to the bathroom. I do my business quickly before washing my hands and leaving the room. I stop dead in my tracks when I see that Danny left and Blake now lays on my bed with his arm covering his eyes.

Giggling quietly I walk up to him softly before lowering myself onto him so that my ass rests on his lap and my hands lean down on his chest. Once I'm situated comfortably I look down at him only to see that he stares at me from under his arm.

One of his arms comes down to rest on my hip while the one covering his eyes grabs my hands and pulls them so that I'm now forced to lean over him, putting my face above his. As I look into his eyes he raises his head slightly and gives me a soft peck before sitting up with me still on his lap.

I run my hands through his hair loving the repetitive motion and the calm it gives me.

"We have to leave soon."

I pout, I can't help it. I want to stay longer.

"I know you don't want to leave babe but the pack needs their Alpha and Luna. Listen, we can always come back and they can visit whenever. The bond allows it."

"Anytime? No questions asked?"

"No questions asked. But I would still ask them to call a head."

He stands up with me still in his arms before slowly sliding me down his body to the floor. Once he sets me down he kisses my forehead before leaving me to get dressed.

Walking to the closet in the room that I've now claimed as mine I pull out some comfy clothes. Walking out of the closet I pull on my shorts before walking down the hallway and into the kitchen like I do every morning that I woke up here. Stepping into the kitchen I'm met with the reality that today is my last day here.

I sit at the table in the seat I've always sat at, kind of like this seat was made entirely for me, and with no one willing to break the silence I sit there avoiding the moment for as long as I possibly can. The only one seemingly inclined to break the silence would be the one and only Danny.

"Sooo your leaving?"

I run my hands through my hair.

"I am."
