I'd kill him if I didn't regret it

Blake

"What do you mean you haven't got any leads!"

"Alpha, we've searched the spot she was last seen and the only thing we have is a small trace of her scent before it completely vanishes."

"I want my mate found Beta. I don't care how it happens I want her found now. Leave and don't come back till you find something useful!"

"Yes Alpha."

My beta leaves and I walk across the floor of my office to the balcony windows. Upon reaching them I yank them open and breath in the woodsy smell of the air, jumping up onto the balcony rails I look out over the forest wondering what went wrong.

After meeting Snow I feel like the the world has been finally kicked back into place. After such a long time of being alone I finally have my Luna by my side. My anger comes back tenfold when I remember how just ten hours ago I was planning on introducing her into the pack as my Luna, and now she's nowhere to be seen.

I lose control of my anger and Shadow breaks free with a vengeance, breaking everything in the room. I can't seem to get a handle on either of them and Shadow quickly takes control, jumping off the rail and shifting at the same time. He rampages into the woods and I let him, for there's nothing else I could do. When he drains enough energy for me to take back control I run off in the direction where Snow was last seen.

When I get there I scan the area looking and smelling for anything that could give me a little lead. I Filter out the prints and smells of my pack, concentrating solely on Snow and her lion. At first I couldn't find anything out of the ordinary, but in the corner under a tree I see something sparkle, cautiously walking over to the gleam I notice that its a tranquilizer. Inhaling the scent on it I smell Snow's, but also another scent that has me confused.

Giving up for the moment I run back to the pack house, taking the tranquilizer with me, and climb the stairs all the way to my room, and plopping face first into the bed just as a knock sounds from the other side. With a groan I get up, whipping the door open I almost snarl at Xena before catching myself and leaning tiredly against the door frame.

"What?"

"Blake, you have a visitor."

"I don't care," I was about to shut the door in her face, but her hand shot out, stopping me from doing it.

"Please, it's important."

Looking into her eyes I see a tiredness that's been there since we started looking and red, puffy eyes from constantly crying. Nodding my head I follow her down to the living room. The first thing I see is a man lazily sitting on the couch, when I walk in he looks over and stands up, nodding his head to me in respect.

"Alpha."

"Who are you and what is so important that you need to tell me."

"Miles Delacroix, third Prince of the Ard Ri Pride. I'm here to send a message and to also apologize."

"That message would be?.."

He gives an awkward grin and rubs the back of his neck.

"Well what is it? I don't have all night."

"Ah-ha, yeah, see about that. Snow wanted to tell you that she's safe in the pride, she's going to be staying for awhile, and you're welcome to join her."

A growl rips from my throat and before I can stop it Shadow rips past my guard, holding him up by his throat.

"What do you know of Snow? Where is she? If you hurt her you wont live to see tomorrow."

I don't know if he was crazy or something else, but he began to laugh. Uncontrollably.

About two minutes later and a lot of self control from me he begins to stop laughing.

"Whew, oh... oh, that was good. Snow was right you are a worry wart."

My eyes flash back from Shadow to my eyes and my jaw clenches to avoid killing him.

"Oh alright alright, no need to get your panties in a twist. Like I said she's in the Ard Ri Pride, where I came from and is more than fine. Matter of fact she's learning about who she is."

"Who she is? What What do you mean who she is? She's Snow, what more is there?"

"Damn, and I thought my devilishly good looks answered that question. Snow is an important part of out pride, one we haven't seen in nineteen years. Snow Delacroix, Princess of the Ard Ri Pride, and also our one and only little sister."

He's joking right? Snow can't actually be related.... you now what, she could, Snow doesn't exactly know who she is.

"So, uh, you gonna let me go or nah?"

Oh...oops.

Releasing my hold on his neck he drops down to the ground, landing on his feet like his cat self is supposed too.

"Yeah, so like I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted. Snow wants to stay for a bit to reconnect with family and get acquainted with the pride. She said that if you want you could come stay with us until she comes back here. What Snow wants she gets."

"... Well at least she's safe. When we leaving?"

"... About that... you see, um, ah, we wanted to have a couple of days to ourselves before you came. We haven't seen her in nineteen years and most of us had given up hope of ever seeing her again."

Shadow was all for beating her location out of him, but one look into his eyes and I knew he was one of those that was a thread away from giving up too. I thought of Rose and how I'd feel if someone took her away then years later she showed up. Thinking about it made my decision a bit easier, I didn't entirely like it, but I knew Snow would and just like he said what she wants she gets.

"Fine, but only for three days."

"You're completely serious? You're not joking right?"

"Yes, I'm serious."

His eyes light up like a child's on Christmas day, and his body started vibrating like he got hooked up to a battery. Before I could stop him he ran up to me, engulfing me in a back breaking hug.

What made it even more wrong was that he picked me up off the ground and started to swing me around.

Yeah, like I wanted that to happen.

"Thankyouthankyou thankyou!"

"Ya ya, now get off me."

When he drops me down he still has that ridiculous grin on his face and I find myself tempted to punch it in, but with all the strength imaginable I hold that urge back.

"I'm gonna go now."

The lucky bastard practically skipped to the door and I held the urge back to throw the couch at him too.

I swear if anyone complains about my self control gain I will hurt them.

"Oh! Before I go, I'll come back around noon in three days time and escort you there myself. When we get there the King and the second Prince will meet with you before you see Snow."

I nod absentmindedly while walking behind him to the door. When he gets out into the night he shifts and takes off so fast that leaves and branches shake.

Turning back I step back into the house closing the door behind me.

Turning around I meet the eyes of a now amused Xena.

"You saw nothing."

She turns around and walks out of the room with the sound of her laughter following behind her.

*sigh* This is gonna be a long three days.
