Chapter 44 - Somebody To Love

Ashley.

I don't know what got in this mind of mine but that was the first thing I blurted out. I don't know what rational part of my mind did I use.

"Wow, Ash. You could've just asked if where were you or what are you doing here- Wait. You're awake." Candice said, panicking. She rushed outside and called for the doctor and my mum, who hurriedly went in the room.

"How are you feeling?" The doctor asked, with concern evident in her voice. I just told her I'm okay and I feel fine and went on to ask me more questions.

"So, your friend here told me that the first thing you mentioned upon waking up was where was Justin? Why is that?" I explained to them what happened up to the part where I saw my dad again. To say they were shocked was an understatement. They clearly couldn't believe it but the doctor insisted on that it mostly happens to people in coma, basically they're lifeless on earth and they see the dead or stuff like that. It was a good thing I woke up from it or things could've been worse.

"So, are you sure you are alright?" I nodded and the doctor told me I was okay now. I looked around the room and I didn't see Justin. Where could he be?

Just then, someone barged in without bothering to even knock or something. He was clearly out of breath. We locked eyes together and I could feel tears welling up his eyes. Candice, being the prankster that she is, told him that I had amnesia and that I forgot who he was but mum, couldn't help it. She just couldn't lie so she told Justin that Candice was just messing with her. He sighed a breath of relief.

"Okay, we'll leave the both of you alone. We'll be outside if you need us." Mum informed us as Candice wiggled her eyebrows. I just stuck my tongue out and rolled my eyes as they scramed out.

When we were finally left alone, he just stared at me for minutes until he dashed on the bed, and hugged me so tight. I can feel that we was crying because I could hear subtle sobs.

"Hey, I'm awake now. It's alright." I told him as I pulled away and smiled at him. He asked me to scoot in the corner so that he could lie with me. He held my hand as I listened to the beating of him heart.

"I missed you so much, baby. Everyday, I was here and I always tell you to be strong and that I love you. Of course, I couldn't be here 24/7. I am a pop star. I have to meet and have concerts for my fans. I even asked every single concert I did to pray for your immediate recovery. It wasn't easy for me to cope up with what happened to you. It was like deja vu all over again. But I knew I had to be strong and hope that you'll be okay. Thank God, you're still alive. I love you so much and what ever struggle you are going through, we'll do it together okay?" He then kissed my temple. It wasn't his monologue that made me shed tears, it was how genuine he sounded. Dad was right. I have found the love of my life and there was no way I'd let him go, ever again.

Days after I was discharged out of the hospital, I went back to school. Candice filled me in what was going on in school and stuff like that. Apparently, prom is in two weeks and graduation in another two weeks. Let's just say it was hectic and I had a lot of catching up to do. Luckily, the teachers were considerate enough to let me do make up projects for the lessons and exams I have missed. A lot of people have asked me if I was really okay too, it was funny.

Lunch time came. I was about to enter the lunch room when someone pulled my hand. I turned around and saw Tyler, grinning at me. I was happy to see him again. Although things didn't work out between us, we still stayed friends. There was no bad blood or whatsoever.

"You could've just called my name, right? Why'd you have to be super dramatic and pull me to go to this out of nowhere place?" He launched himself on to me as I chuckled lightly.

"I missed you, Ash. I'm sorry I was able to visit often. You know, graduation is coming up and a lot of stuff has been going on in my life as well." He was rambling. It was kind of cute actually but I am not attracted to Tyler that way anymore.

"It's alright. I get it. I am kinda hungry though, want to grab some lunch and let's catch up?" He nodded and we proceeded to the lunch room.

For the first time, I didn't hear whispers about me that weren't even true. People I know and I don't remember knowing said hi's to me and it was an amazing feeling.

Tyler and I sat down on their usual table and ate our lunches, of course after I gave hugs to the guys. They told me everything that went on when I was gone. Tyler even is dating someone right now and he told me it was pretty serious between them. I was happy because finally, everything is okay and that Tyler found somebody to love him.

Everythingn wasn't back to normal but I am grateful that it wasn't. I wouldn't have this life any other way.
