I'll just give you a heads up. This is going to be a shorter chapter than the usual but it'll explain much.

So yeah, here's chapter 18 :)

Justin.

I was determined to know what really happened after I left. Something just don't add up here. It was really confusing me. So, I did everything I had to do to know everything.

I couldn't just go to Ashley's and bombard her with questions. I just can't do that. I asked someone who I know knows a lot.

"Who was the one less lonely girl tonight? I swear she looks so familiar." Mom asked me. So she has noticed it too. I thought as to why Scooter didn't recognize her but he hasn't even met her.

"It was Ashley. You know, Brenda's daughter? Like Ashley, my best friend. Yes, it was her." Mom's eyes widened. Yeah, mom. I was shocked too.

"Did you, uh, talk to her?" Mom stuttered as she asked me. Why was she stuttering? Is she hiding something? Does she know something I don't?

"Yeah but it seems like she doesn't know me mom. Why is that? Do you know what happened?" Mom looked like she was having doubts. Does mom know something that I don't?

"Honey, I have to tell you something." I really have a bad feeling about this but I bet this will answer my questions and clear my head.

We sat down at the couch nearby and mom kept holding my hand and keep telling me that I won't be doing something after our talk. Whatever that meant.

"After we left, Ashley became miserable. And by miserable I meant she hasn't eaten, left her room in days. She was crying for days or maybe weeks because you left without a warning. She was deeply wounded. After a few days, Ashley recomposed herself and went out with some friends. Of course, going out with friends nowadays meant drinking and partying so she did. The next thing Brenda knew was she got a call from the police saying Ashley got into an accident which made her lose her memory or amnesia as what they call it. Every memory she had was lost. Brenda told me this because she was worried about Ashley. She thought that by calling me, it would help her. She thought of trying to talk to you but she's afraid it was going to worsen everything. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner because I know you are going to stress out. So I let it slide. I'm sorry, hun. I should've told you earlier. I know how much she meant to you." I couldn't even say anything or even move right now.

This can't be happening.
