Chapter 30 - Up

Ashley.

I was halfway through the door of the emergency room when I heard the monitor go beep. I looked at it and noticed it went flatline.

I panicked and immediately called for someone for help. A nurse and a doctor came in and they checked everything there is while we were outside, hoping Justin would survive. Every single one of us was crying. We just couldn't lose Justin. We just couldn't.

We grieved for about 15 minutes or so when the doctor came out.

All out us jolted up from our seats eager to know what's happening. Dr. Smosh took a deep breath and told us something which rendered us speechless.

"Justin's now awake."

All of us had mixed emotions on our faces. Pattie and mom continued crying while Jeremy, Scooter, Chaz and Ryan were happy about it. As for me, I don't know what to feel to be honest. I am happy and sad at the same time. I am happy that he's awake but sad that I am going to start pretending again.

Don't get me wrong, I like Tyler, I like things the way they are now but I can't help but wish that things were different.

I love Justin so much. I can't help but feel guilty about what I did.

I was in deep thoughts when I have noticed that they already went inside the room. I was left alone in the hallways of the hospital.

I was debating on whether or not to get inside. I'm sure he won't remember me or my name. It won't hurt if I'll try, right?

"Buddy, do you still remember me?" Fredo cheekily asked Justin. He narrowed his eyes and thought about it then grinned.

"Why would I forget you, asshole?" He smirked at him as Fredo went in for a hug. Pattie was still in tears to notice that Justin said a foul word.

"Mom, stop crying. I am awake now, okay? You don't have to worry." He held her hand and smiled warmly at her. Pattie hugged him so tight, still sobbing. Justin just chuckled at hugged her even tight.

He said hi's to everyone and asked questions like how long was he out and such. He gave hugs to everyone. It's a good thing he still hasn't noticed me. I am scared on what he'll tell me.

Thank god he didn't have amnesia. It would be really hard if he did.

He laughed and joked with them and told Jemy he wants to see Jaxon and Jazzy. His eyes roam around until it landed on me. I tried to look away but couldn't. His eyes were like peircing me, telling me that he wants to talk to me.

Ryan must've noticed the tension between the both of us and broke the eerie silence.

"We'll leave you two alone. Let's all grab some food I am hungry." Ryan announced to everyone and to my surprise, everyone agreed, including mom.

As they went out, I was still rooted to where I was standing, unable to move because my legs won't allow me to do so. I just don't know why.

"So, aren't you gonna give me a hug, Monroe?" Justin said as he raised his eyebrows and smirked at me.

I was slack jawed. I blinked my eyes a couple of times to check if it was really true then I heard him chuckle.

"You were always weird, Ash. I'm glad you didn't change." I feel my cheeks burn with his remark.

I inched closer to him and sat on the chair beside his bed.

"H-how did you? I-I mean-"

"You thought I didn't know? I heard everything you said to me moments ago, Ash. I knew something was off. As much as I wanted to be mad at you for what you did, I couldn't bring myself to because you mean so much to me and I couldn't lose you ever again. Not now, not ever." I started shedding some tears and hugged him. He just chortled and hugged back.

"I guess I don't have anything to say anymore." I half smiled at him as he smackes my arm.

"Heeeey! For a guy who's sick, you sure do hit so hard. Have you forgotten I am a girl, Justin?" He just laughed so hard. He was finding this amusing. This idiot.

"I am joking, Ash. C'mere and give me another hug." I did as he was told.

I was happy that things were kind of back to normal but I can't help but think what will happen to Tyler. I hate to admit it but I feel happy around Justin. I guess I'll cross the bridge when I get there.

We cuddled for a while then I heard him sing a song in the form of a whisper.

"I'll take you to sky past the moon, to the galaxy, as long as you're with me.
Honestly, with the strength of our love, we can go nowhere but up."

HELLO HELLO. I am sorry for the late chapter because I was with my my family and we did a lot of stuff during the break.

Anyways, Justin is now awake. Thank god for that. And things are starting to go back to the way it was. Or is it? :)))))
