Caleb POV
"Aria—!" My voice broke as I dropped to my knees beside her, my hands hovering over her body, afraid to touch her but even more terrified not to. "Baby, wake up... princess, please wake up," I said, my voice shaking as I gently cupped her face.
Her skin felt cold, her lashes still, and the sight of blood pooling beneath her made my stomach violently twist. "No, no, no... not like this," I muttered, panic clawing up my chest as I pressed my hand against her cheek.
"CARSON!" I roared, my voice echoing through the house. "CALL AN AMBULANCE—NOW!"
Her body shifted slightly under my touch, a weak, broken sound leaving her lips. My heart stuttered. "Cal... Caleb..." she whispered faintly, her voice barely there.
"I'm right here, baby. I got you," I rushed out, my hands trembling as I carefully lifted her into my arms. "Stay with me. You hear me? You don't get to leave me—not you, not my son."
Another wave of blood made my vision blur with rage and fear. My jaw clenched so hard it hurt. "What happened? Did you fall? Aria, talk to me," I begged, pressing my forehead to hers.
"My... stomach..." she whimpered, her hand weakly gripping my shirt. "It... hurts..."
That was all it took for terror to fully set in. This wasn't just a fall.
This was the baby.
"Fuck," I breathed, standing up with her in my arms just as Carson came rushing in. His face went pale instantly. "The ambulance is on the way," he said quickly.
"It's not fast enough," I snapped, already moving. "Get the car."
Rain pounded against the windows as thunder shook the house, and I didn't hesitate for a second. I carried her outside, shielding her with my body as the storm drenched us within seconds.
"Stay with me, princess," I whispered urgently, placing her into the backseat before climbing in beside her, pulling her into my lap again. "Look at me. Look at me, Aria."
Her eyes fluttered, unfocused, her breathing uneven. "I'm... s-scared..." she cried softly.
"I know, baby. I know," I said, my voice breaking as I wiped her tears and blood from her face. "But I'm right here. Nothing's gonna happen to you. I swear to you."
A sharp cry ripped from her throat as her body tensed in pain, and my entire world tilted. "Caleb—!" she gasped, gripping onto me desperately.
"It's okay, it's okay," I murmured, even though nothing about this was okay. My mind was spiraling, trying to stay in control while everything around me fell apart.
"Drive!" I shouted as the car sped off into the storm.
Her fingers dug into my arm as another contraction hit—stronger this time. My heart stopped.
Contractions.
"No..." I whispered in disbelief, looking down at her. "No, it's too early—"
But deep down, I knew.
It wasn't early.
It was happening.

Aria POV
Everything hurt.
It felt like my body was being torn apart from the inside, waves of pain crashing into me so hard I couldn't breathe. "D-daddy..." I cried, my voice shaking as I clung to him.
