Chapter Five
All the Third Years and other students that were given permission to enter Hogsmeade village were currently lining up at the gates. Harriet had already set up her plan. She was to stay at Hogsmeade until two pm, come back (very earlier than the others) by then for her detention that she will be serving from three to six pm, get dinner, go to Quidditch practice. She heard the Great Hall would look quite different tonight since it was Halloween, but she wasn’t thinking about that much considering she was trying to time manage.
“I should learn how to think before I should hex people.” Harriet mumbled to herself as she followed the crowd of students walking to Hogsmeade village.
Harriet glanced at her watch, it was two pm, she groaned to herself as she forced herself to leave Zonko’s Joke Shop. She was loving Hogsmeade, she bought a dozen Sugar Quills and some Chocolate Frogs at Honeydukes’, had some butterbeers at the Three Broomsticks and lastly she stocked up on items at Zonko’s.
“Damn Malfoy,” Harriet cursed as she walked back to Hogwarts “I take back what I said…. Hexing him wasn’t worth detention….”
She continued her rambling as she entered the gates, she headed up to the common room into their dorm and she dumped all her stuff there. Once she fixed herself up again, she headed downstairs, she glanced at her watch; it was five minutes 'til her detention.
She sighed exasperatedly as she started heading towards the detention chamber. As she was walking she bumped into someone,
“Sorry,” she said
“What are you doing back so early Lily?” Harriet looked up and cursed, she bumped into Uncle Remus “Language Lily.”
“Sorry,” Harriet mumbled again, looking down at her feet. What would she tell Uncle Remus? “Uhm… What did you say?”
“I said,” said Uncle Remus “Why are you back so early? You’re still supposed to be in Hogsmeade. Harry’s the only student among the third years to be left behind because his permission slip wasn’t signed. Is there something you aren’t telling me?”
“Nothing,” said Harriet, her voice higher pitched than normal “I just wanted to come back earlier; you know take a walk around the grounds while everyone is gone. I’ll just be going now, bye!” As Harriet tried to make a run for it, Uncle Remus sighed exasperatedly and gave her a look
“Lillian.” He said sternly as he blocked Harriet’s way, Harriet groaned
“How many times do I have to tell you to not call me that Uncle Remus?” said Harriet, annoyed Uncle Remus just smiled
“I only call you that to get your attention,” he said “anyways, where are you going?”
“Nowhere.” Harriet lied again “I’m going to take a walk around the grounds.” She glanced at her watch; she was running late for detention “Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go now. A walk isn’t great if it’s past three pm you know.”
Uncle Remus crossed his arms
“Fine I’ll go with you then,” he said, Harriet’s eyes widened
“No you can’t.” she said
“Yes I can,” said Uncle Remus “now c’mon let’s go.”
“You have essays to check!” said Harriet
“Already checked them last night,” countered Uncle Remus
“Well – Uh, you can’t come with me.” Said Harriet lamely, Uncle Remus raised his eyebrows
