Chapter Twenty Four
Black stared at Harriet; Harriet instinctively took out her wand. Harry tried pulling her back so she could stand behind him along with Ron and Hermione but she persisted,
“No.” she said “I’m not afraid of him.”
Harry looked like he wanted to object but just nodded as he pulled out his own wand. Hermione and Ron watched tensely from behind Harry and Harriet as Black stared at both siblings, he had a torn look on his face.
“You don’t know how long I’ve waited for this moment.” He said hoarsely, his voice sounded like he hadn’t been using it for so long “I knew both of you would come for your friend, it’s what your father would have done for me. I knew both of you had some of his spirit.”
Harriet felt angered by what he said. The taunting of her father made her want to kill Black. She had never felt this angered in her entire life, not even when she was enemies with Malfoy.
“If you want to kill Harry and Harriet you’ll – You’ll have to kill us too!” Hermione said fiercely, managing to get up from behind Harry and stand upright,
“No.” said Black; he then grinned “Only one will die tonight.”
“Then it will be you!” Harry cried. It happened so fast, Harry ran for Black and pinned him against the wall near the door and pointed his wand towards Black’s throat. Black gave a menacing laugh.
“Going to kill me, Harry?” Black asked; Harry gritted his teeth together in anger
“Yes.” He said; Harriet had now ran beside him
“No,” she said firmly; Black looked up at her. Harriet saw the look in his eyes, he looked like he wanted to say something but Harriet ignored that “You aren’t killing him without me.” She then grabbed her wand and pointed it against the other side of Black’s throat.
“The two of you have to listen to me,” said Black, there was a note of urgency in his voice now “Both of you have to know the whole story.”
Harriet laughed bitterly
“We already know the story.” She said “You killed our parents. What else do you want us to know?”
“What you know is a lie.” Said Black, Harriet glared at him she felt herself lowering her wand involuntarily. Black looked like he thought he had calmed Harriet, which was the exact opposite, she felt even angrier.
“You’re the reason why our mum and dad are dead.” She said icily “You’re the reason Harry had to live in a cupboard under some stairs for eleven years. You’re the reason why we never knew each other until now. And you still expect us to listen to you?”
“Just listen to me.” Black repeated, but Harry had had enough he raised his wand and Harriet kept her hold on Black by keeping her wand on his throat
“This is for what you did to our parents.” Said Harry; but before Harry would even cast a spell, footsteps came from outside and another person had entered the room
“Expelliarmus!” And Harry was disarmed; Harry and Harriet looked up to see Uncle Remus “Expelliarmus!” he repeated and this time Harriet was disarmed.
“Professor Lupin!” Harry, Ron and Hermione cried
“Uncle Remus?” said Harriet confusedly as Uncle Remus walked further into the room; he lowered his wand as he walked towards Black,
“Looking a bit ragged, aren’t we, Sirius?” He commented “Finally the skin reflects the madness within.”
“You’d know all about the madness within, wouldn’t you, Remus?” said Black, Uncle Remus stepped forward; his gaze locked on Black. There was tension in the air; uncle Remus still had his wand. The next thing that happened was something Harriet did not see coming. Uncle Remus actually hugged Black like a brother.
