Chapter Fourteen
Not much had changed mainly because Dumbledore had decided to not let everyone know about Harriet’s true identity, once again because of safety reasons. Harriet didn’t find any of this inconvenient, so did Harry. The only people besides the teachers that knew about Harriet’s identity was Ron and Hermione, and the Weasleys; Dumbledore thought that it would be fine for them to know considering they always took Harry in whenever he need them.
Harriet had now hung out with Harry, Ron and Hermione more often too. Hermione was still a little snobby at times but it was still good. Harriet personally thought just because she was Harry’s sister didn’t mean she could hang out with his friends so she never went with them unless Harry invited her.
“What’s wrong Harry?” Harriet asked as they both walked together to their last Quidditch practice before the holidays began. Almost the whole team was going home to their families for the holidays, well except for Harry, Harriet and the Weasleys.
Harry just shrugged as they got out onto the grounds, the snow lightly falling onto their faces. Harriet sighed; she knew Harry was still stressing about the whole Sirius Black thing.
“Nothing,” said Harry; Harriet knew he was lying “It’s just Hagrid that’s all.”
“Why what about Hagrid?” Harriet pressed.
“Well Hermione, Ron and I are helping him win this trial against Malfoy’s dad because he’s pressing charges against Buckbeak and well if Hagrid doesn’t win they’ll have to kill Buckbeak.”
“Are you sure this is the real thing that’s bothering you?” Harriet asked; staring at Harry who just looked down at his feet as they walked. Harriet sighe“Just forget about Sirius Black alright?” she finally said “And don’t try doing anything stupid.”
“Like what?”
“Like trying to go after Black.”
Harry gave her a look
“What makes you think I’ll do that?” he asked, Harriet rolled her eyes
“I have my theories,” she said simply “but anyways, don’t you dare try. Mum and dad wouldn’t have wanted you to go after him. You’d get hurt!”
“I’ll never know what they’d have wanted because thanks to Black I’ve never spoken to them.” Said Harry shortly “Neither will you Harriet.”
“But do you think it would be repaying them for risking your life; the life they saved and fought for, to go after a murderer?”
Harry was quiet for a moment and Harriet knew he finally realized she was correct.
“Now I don’t want to hear about this discussion again.” Said Harriet, Harry smiled
“You know what?” he said “You’re the younger one and yet you’re the wiser one.”
Harriet just laughed
Quidditch practice wasn’t as great as before. Ever since Harry lost his Nimbus Two Thousand; his flying wasn’t as remarkable as before mainly because he doesn’t have a decent broom of his own yet and is borrowing one of the school’s stock, a Shooting Star. A very old broom line that was released during the 1950s; it always flew slightly to the left and started to vibrate if one flew too high.
Harriet reckons she rode one during her first flying lesson at her old school during her First Year; she already knew how to fly at that time of course.
