THIS IS HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN! I actually hate Halloween but my friends like fall so I'm in the spirit. (November 1) THIS IS CHRISTMAS, CHRISTMAS, CHRISTMAS! LOL

July 2016
A few months ago, I left home to record and do some things in LA. Last night I got a call from Terra, saying that I should come home as soon as possible because 'she needed me.' I don't know about you, but that sounded incredibly shady. If you got a call from your sister, telling you she needed you, wouldn't you immediately think the worst?
As I turned down my street in the late evening, I start thinking more lightly; like it was a confusing relationship or her grades were dropping. Parking out of the driveway and on the side of the and knocking on the door, Terra opens it, cheeks stained red with tears and red.
She pulls me into a hug in the doorframe and instantly starts sobbing into me. I hold her, knowing that Terra was rarely emotional.
Something was seriously wrong.
"Kayla," Terra sniffles, rubbing my back, "I need you here."
"I'm right here," I shush her, just putting my head on hers. Height was in my favor in genes.
After a few seconds, Terra pulls away on her own and wipes her blue eyes, taking my hand and pulling me into the house. Then, my dad walks in, sulky and hair tangled in a mess. My family wasn't really the emotional type, so this felt insanely odd.
"Where's Mom?" I end up asking awkwardly, because usually she was the one to greet me with kisses first. The two exchange glances and stare at me. Seeing that their reactions weren't very pleasant, my dad cuts me off.
"Let me take you somewhere, Mikayla," He says, taking the keys off the entry table and making his way to the front door.
Confused (and curious), I follow Terra and him outside to his gray 2013 Honda Accord Sport and in less than one minute, we're driving to wherever my mom is, or the unhappy surprise.

I stare at my dad in horror when he pulls into a hospital parking lot. I turn from the front seat to Terra in the back. She's staring into her hands, her body visibly shaking.
"Dad..." I start, but he turns off the car with force and climbs out. Choking out a sob, Terra follows.
From the time it took us to drive from our house to the hospital, the soft orange glow of the evening sun had set and the night had settled. A few stars were visible despite the city lights.
I have to speed walk to keep up with Terra. She'd fallen behind my dad, already wiping her eyes once again.
"Terra, tell me what happened now," It probably comes out too aggressive for the situation, but right now it's serious.
"You'll have to see it to believe it," Terra says, glancing up at me.
The elevator ride is silent to the third floor. My dad makes his way to the counter where the nurse is sitting.
"I'm here for Talia Valencia," He says, cracking his knuckles.
"Visiting hours are from 9 am to 5 pm for her," She says to him plainly. "You should know this, Mitchell."
"Please," My dad begs, "My eldest is finally home. She doesn't know."
The nurse looks past my dad to me. With a sigh, she speaks. "Room 304."
"Thank you," He says to the nurse, nodding rapidly. When I pass, I give her a nod of appreciation. She smiles back at me.
At Room 304, my dad hesitates at the door. Slowly opening it, he holds it open for Terra and I. The room is cool, too cold for my mom to sleep in; I know. As I expected, my mom had her blue eyes opened with amusement as we walked in.
