Chapter 13: Our Den

Drake's POV

I finished singing and I could hear Nicki's light breathing on the other side of the phone. I was about to hang up but something inside of me told me otherwise. I put my phone on speaker before setting it down on the pillow next to me. I let my eyes shut as I fell to a light nap.

I woke up a little later to the sound of crying. I sat up confused, wondering where it was coming from. I remember I still hadn't hung up on Nicki and grabbed my phone.

D-Nika?

N-A-Aubrey?

She replied a little confused.

D-What's up?

N-I want to come home

D-You are home

N-No, I want to be with you...I miss you

She cried even hard.

D-Babe, calm down, I miss you too but you've only just got there

N-I know...

D-Just stay a couple days and if you still wanna come back, then you can

N-O-ok

D-So you gonna wipe away those tears and go back to sleep?

N-Why you talking to me like a baby?

She giggled.

D-Cos you're my baby, now go back, Nika

N-Fine

I could tell she pouted even through the phone.

D-And stop pouting

N-You know me to well

D-Do you want me to sing

N-Yea...that would help, thanks

I began singing a second time tonight and she soon fell asleep. I laid my phone next to me a drifted of to sleep.

Nicki's POV

The next morning, I woke to the smell of eggs being cooked. I smiled to my self before sneaking of into the bathroom. I took a short shower before getting dressed and combing my wet, curly hair. I put it in a ponytail and made my way down the stairs. I found the kitchen and saw everyone inside. Jelani, Micaiah and dad had there backs toward me but my mum was cooking on the stove facing me. I stood there as I watched my family for a couple minutes before speaking up.

"Hey guys," I smiled as they all turned around in shock.

"Nika, we missed you!" I heard them all say, a long with 'We love you' and 'We knew you'd come' as they hugged me. I smiled and hugged them back, told them I missed them to and I loved them.

"Come play!" Micaiah told me as he pulled on my hand, out of the kitchen.

"I will in a bit, but I'm hungry right now, so after I've eat, ok Lamb Chop?" I told him as I picked him up onto my hip.

"Okay!" He wrapped his arms around my neck and planted a wet kiss on my cheek. "I love you," He smiled as he wiped his mouth on his sleeve.

"I love you too," I replied with a kiss on his cheek.

"Here you go, Nika," My mum passed me a plate filled with eggs, pancakes and bacon.

"Mmm, yummy, thanks mum," I set Micaiah back down on the floor and sat down at the breakfast bar. "Mmm. dis ish gwd," I told my mum with my mouth full of food.

"Finish whats in your mouth first Onika," She laughed. I chewed the food and swallowed before speaking again.

"I said this is good," I smiled.
