[back to your POV]
Quick AN: I have a tendency to skip flashbacks, but this one is actually really important so try your best to read it ^-^
--Flashback--"Wing-San!" I called out, opening the door and stepping in. He gave me a pleasant smile and sat me down in front of me. In front of me was a glass of water with a leaf on it. I tilted my head slightly at the strange image. I knew I was going to learn my nen type today, but it was still confusing. How would this help, and why did Wing want me to do this on my own? I would have rather done it along with Gon and Killua.
"Okay, Y/n. It's very important that you concentrate. Your personality doesn't fit any of the nen types so I haven't been able to distinguish it, which confuses me. It's almost like..." He shook his head and smiled. "Never mind. Now concentrate all your energy into that glass and the leaf should move."
I nodded and put my hands around the glass, closing my eyes tightly and taking deep breaths. I could do this. Suddenly, a huge jolt made me open my eyes. I stared in shock at the image in front of me.
The glass had shattered.
That wasn't right from what I heard.
I looked up at Wing and tilted my head to the side, furrowing my eyebrows. His eyes slowly widened and he shook his head in disbelief.
"Y/n... Let me see the back of your neck."
"Wha-" he was suddenly behind me and lifted up my h/c hair. A small gasp escaped his mouth.
"It is what I thought..." He murmured. He turned towards me in a professional manner, and gave his best impression of a smile. "Y/n... Someone's put a curse on you, and until it's lifted we can't find out your nen. I don't know too much about it, but I know that if we wait too long, you'll turn into a demon of some kind. It's shown by the bite marks on your neck. I don't know who did it or why, but you need to find an exorcist. There are only ten in the world (AN: it's actually a thing on hxh- look it up:D) . Or..."
"Or what?" I asked worriedly, on the brink of tears.
"Or I fear the demon will consume you and you'll become a mindless killer." I blinked several times in disbelief. "There is another way, but I'm afraid it's almost impossible..."
"Tell me, Wing-San." I said, narrowing my eyes and resting my head on the palm of my hand.
"You learn to control the bloodlust within you, until the demon is exorcized. To do that, you'll need someone to help you along the way. A soulmate, maybe." Of course, Killua immediately popped into my head. If anyone would understand, he would. He's had a demon inside him longer than I have, and he knows how to deal with it.
"Thank you." I whispered, standing up from my chair shakily. I ran out and slammed the door behind me. I sat with my back against the door and cried.
"Y/n? Y/n!" I suddenly looked up to see Tia shaking me frantically, a worried look on her face. "You totally zoned out for, like, five minutes!" I have her a small smile.
"Sorry. Happens a lot." She nodded and sighed in relief, lying down on the grass. "Oh, by the way, Killua left." I bolted upright, looking at her in alarm.
"What?" I yelled.
"I don't know, it sounded like he was meeting up someone by the phone call." She shrugged. "He was too fast for me to object."
At that moment, I suddenly felt a throbbing pain in my head, causing me to stumble slightly. I held my head in my hands.
"O- okay, I'm gonna go find him."
"Are you gonna be okay?" She asked, clearly concerned.
"I'll be fine!" I replied, mustering up the biggest smile I could manage. "Don't worry- just go home. I'm going to find Killua." And with that I bolted, running as fast as I possibly could. I needed to tell him about me myself, and not anyone else.
Now I had to think about where he may have gone. If he knew a nen exorcist somewhere I knew he would head there with no hesitation, but that wasn't possible. I would have known about it. The only thing I could think of was he went to meet someone, but who could he have gone to meet? The only person who knows is Wing, but he was too far away. So that means he must have gone to tell someone.
I skidded to a halt when I got to the market, and began pushing my way through the hundreds of people blocking my path. I thought about the marks on my neck. Who could have seen them? The only person I could think of was Kurapika...
I immediately grabbed my phone and tapped Kurapika's number, pressing it to my ear. It rang several times before it went to answer phone. I sighed in defeat and furrowed my eyebrows. My headache was getting worse, and the throbbing pain was getting more and more frequent. Every noise appeared to have magnified in my ears. I would pass out if I didn't find Killua soon.
I suddenly felt someone grab me from behind. Then, everything went black.
