AN: I just added this Halsey song bc it reminds me so much of Killua (Control- Halsey) O.O give it a listen if you want and pay attention to the lyrics bc I swear it was made for him x3 (it's a fairly new song so it's probably vevo copyrighted but I think it'll show up with the link right?) And also just because I ADORE Halsey. Like, I love her so much help me. Anyway, I hope you like the song and you should tell me if I should keep adding songs that remind me of hunter x hunter characters!^-^

I slowly opened my eyes and checked the time. 11:30pm- perfect. I had school tomorrow, but I didn't care. I looked over to see Killua sleeping soundly next to me, a small smile on his face. He looked so cute when he was asleep. I wondered what he was dreaming about. Since I wasn't very heavy it wasn't that hard to stand up from the bed, but the hard part would be getting across the room without him noticing. He was an assassin, after all. He could hear even the faintest of noises and I was sure people had tried to kill him in his sleep before.

Taking a deep breath, I took one light step forward, and then stopped. Looking back, he was still fast asleep. I exhaled deeply. I took a couple more steps forward, and paused again. After a couple more steps, I'd finally reached the door. I suddenly felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist as Killua pulled me towards him. I sighed and smiled.

"You caught me."

"Ba- ka. I'm not an assassin for nothing, you know." He suddenly looked concerned again. "There's no way I'm letting you out there on your own in the middle of the night, but I'll come with you and hide. You won't even know I'm there, and neither will Kurapika." I mentally face palmed. Of course, that was the obvious solution! He could just use zetsu to conceal his presence.

"Yeah, that sounds like a plan."

"But if anything I don't like happens," Killua added, "I won't hesitate to come out. Understand?" I smiled and nodded. That made me feel much better.

"Great." Killua nodded, pecked my cheek and then disappeared. Even if I couldn't see him I knew he was watching over me, which made me feel comforted.

I opened the front door of our hotel and walked out. I briefly glanced around to see if there was anyone watching me, but I saw and felt no one. I began walking towards the direction of the market, continuously shifting my eyes around. One things for sure; these streets aren't safe at night.

--------------

I finally reached the market and checked the time; 12:10. I was late. I looked over to see Kurapika waiting for me. He slowly began walking over and stopped directly in front of me.

"You didn't bring anyone, right?"

"No, of course not."

"You're late."

"You stood me up last time, idiot."

We both smiled at each other, and I moved in to give him a hug.

"Hey, it's great to see you again Kurapika." I said, my smile becoming wider. "It's been a while."

"Yeah, it has." He replied.

"So, about what you wanted to tell me..." I ventured, biting my lip and looking at him in the eye.

"Yeah, right. Umm..." He looked away for a second. Was he... Blushing?

"Are you okay?" I asked worriedly. "You've gone red." Deep down, I knew what he was about to tell me. And I was afraid.

"Y/n, we've been friends for so many years, and I think it's about time I told you exactly how I feel." I just stood there with my mouth half open. He couldn't be about to tell me what I thought, could he?

"... Go on?" I said cautiously, frowning at him. I'd only just realised that he didn't know anything about my relationship with Killua, and he thought we were only friends. I suddenly felt bad for bringing him along. Killua was going to be mad at him, I could feel it. And there was no denying that I didn't like Kurapika that way. I loved him as a friend and nothing more.

"I- I really like you, Y/n. I always have. I've just been too scared to admit it. I'll totally understand if you don't feel the same way." My eyes widened. I couldn't believe I was hearing this. I should have told him about Killua. I should have a long time ago. To my surprise, Killua didn't come out. I felt like he read my mind. He knew he didn't need to. He was only there for my safety and I was pretty sure we both knew that.

"Listen, Kurapika..." I gulped, scratching the back of my neck sheepishly. "I don't... I can't... Okay. I'm just gonna come out with it. Killua and I are... Uh..."  His eyes widened for a fraction of a second, before they softened again.

"I didn't know. I'm so sorry, Y/n." I gave him a smile, and another hug.

"We can still be friends, right?" I asked him, smiling hopefully.

"Yeah, of course." He replied quickly. We stood in awkward silence for a bit, until I decided to break it.

"Well, I should probably go. I have things to do tomorrow." He nodded and we said our goodbyes. As soon as he was out of sight, I exhaled deeply.

"Yo, let's go back." I looked over to see Killua walking next to me with his hands in his pockets.

"I thought you'd be more angry about this." I said, frowning.

"Yeah, well as long as he doesn't make you do anything you don't want to I'm fine with it, Baka. I was just here to keep you safe anyway." He said, digging his hands deeper into his pockets. I tried to make eye contact with him, but he was just glaring at the floor. I smiled at him anyway and we carried on walking. He was acting... Strange all of a sudden. Suddenly, he stopped walking.

"Killua, what are you d-"

He suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me down, both of us crouching. He put a single finger to his lips.

"Shh, someone's following us. Do exactly as I say, okay?"
