Liam was slowly losing his patience. This guy was pushing him on the field and if he came at Liam again with that cocky smirk, Liam wouldn't bat an eyelash at ripping his head off. Scott and Stiles had had to take him aside multiple times to make sure he was okay and each time this guy slammed into him, they sent each other worried looks. To make things worse, it was a full moon and his wolf was clawing at his insides and trying to get Liam to lose himself in the madness.
The only thing helping him at the moment was knowing that you were sitting on the bleachers cheering for him. Liam glanced over at you for moment too long and then he was on his ass again with this asshole hovering over him with a smirk. The asshole looked over at the bleachers towards you and looked back at Liam with a glint in his eyes, "That your girlfriend? Nah, she's too hot for you. Oh man, she'd be hot screaming my name and clutching the headboard as I po-"
Liam bolted up off the ground with a growl, knocking the guy over and sending his helmet flying in the air. Liam's control had slipped from his grasp and underneath his helmet, his teeth were bared and his eyes were glowing a brilliant gold. Liam lifted his clawed hand in the air, only to get pulled back by two pairs of arms and dragged off the field. He was growling and thrashing around as the pushed him under the cold water. Scott was yelling at him and telling him to find his anchor, but Liam was so far gone. That guy had pissed him off talking about you that way. You deserved so much better than that and Liam will be damned if that guy went home without knowing not to ever say shit like that again.
Scott yelled something to Stiles and Stiles was running out of the door as fast as his legs could carry him. Liam had no clue what was going on because all he could think about was that guy and the way his eyes had held a sort of hungry look in them when he glanced over at you. Liam growled at Scott and flashed his eyes before throwing Scott off him and into one of the walls. Liam ran for the door and threw it open, only to be faced with Stiles and you. Stiles put his hands up in a calming manner and moved to stand in front of you, but you were having none of that. You moved forward a step or two, getting in Liam's space as he backed away from you.
"Please, Y/N, I don't want to hurt you." His wolf was whining at the emotions rolling off you. You were scared, even though you weren't acting it, and Liam hated that he had caused that. Liam flinched away from your touch as you lifted a hand towards his face, "Y/N..."
"Hey, hey. It's okay. You aren't going to hurt me. You wouldn't do that." You managed to gently put your hands on his face, running your thumb over his check in a soothing manner. Liam closed his eyes and focused on the feel of your hands and the sound of your voice. He was so focused on you that he was completely unaware of the other two boys watching the scene unfold. You smiled slightly as you ran your thumbs across normal Liam's face again, "Liam, it's okay. Let me see those pretty eyes of yours."
Liam hesitated but slowly opened his eyes to look at you. He was worried that you'd hate him for losing control on the field and that you'd be afraid of him after seeing him like that, but for some reason you were smiling. Liam couldn't help but smile sheepishly, looking away from you. "Uh, sorry if I scared you... I didn't mean to."
"Don't worry about it... I've seen plenty of wolves lose control and at least you calmed down." You shot a look over to Scott, who was standing stock still with a smile on his face, and looked back at Liam, "Still a little terrifying but it's whatever. What happened out there?"
Liam growled low in his throat and flashed his eyes, "That, that asshole crossed a line. I can handle getting my ass handed to me on the field most of the time, but he was close to getting his throat ripped out."
"Calm down, it's okay. Forget about him. He's not worth it." You soothed again, running your thumb over his cheek, "Out of sight, out of mind. Alright?"
Liam closed his eyes and took a deep breath, "Right, yeah. I'm fine. I'm good." You moved to take your hands off his face but Liam gripped your wrists to hold them in place, "Don't."
You looked over at Scott and Stiles for an answer but Stiles shrugged and Scott smiled brightly. You rolled your eyes at them as a blush crept up on your cheeks, "Liam?"
Liam opened his eyes when he realized what he did, "I'm so sorry. I made that awkward. It was nice and I just, uh, my wolf really liked it." You frowned a bit and Liam hated that, so he rushed out, "So did I. I liked it. Like I liked it an entire lot. Maybe we could, uh, do that again. Uh, that's weird isn't it? I shou-"
"Oh my god, we have got to teach him how to ask girls out." Stiles groaned and started dragging Scott out of the locker room, "Liam's trying to ask you out. He doesn't know how to tell you that you're his anchor and wow that was embarrassing to watch. You're welcome."
Liam glared at them on the way out, only receiving an apologetic shrug and a thumbs up from Scott. Liam was afraid to look at you because Stiles could've made things better or ruined everything. By the way you pulled Liam down for a kiss, he'd have to thank Stiles later but right now he'd focus on enjoying the feel of your soft lips on his.
