"Hey Y/n."
I turn to look at who was calling my name, "Hey Lyd." I say closing my locker.
"Are you coming over later?" She asks.
I pull my shoulder scrap and take a deep breath trying to think of a way to tell her I would be with Liam.
Deciding I should just be honest I say,
"I can't Lydia, I have a date." I wait in silence for her answer.
"Alright Y/n have fun." That was easy I think, way too easy.
Lydia starts to walk away when I follow after her "That's it Lydia? No questions?"
She turns around to look at me "Why would I have any questions? I know you really like Liam and I don't want a girls night to take your date away."
I smile and walk closer to her to give her a quick hug "Your the best, you know that right?"
"I know." She says as she pulls away and walks to her next class.
I turn round heading towards my next class when I to see Liam walking down the hall with a smile on his face as he texts on his phone.
I walk over to him and grab one of his hands so I can lace my fingers between it.
"Who are you texting?" I ask.
"No one." He tells me as he puts his phone in his pocket. I go to say something about how weird he is acting when he changes the subject, "I have some bad news Y/n."
"What?" I ask him with worry all over my face.
"I have to cancel our date, I'm sorry."
"What why?" I repeat.
"I uh, have some family commitment." He made it sound more like a question then a statement.
I shrugged it off and gave him a kiss on the cheek,
"Ok, well I'll see you at lunch." I told him as I continued to walk to class.
As soon as I got home I finished my homework and grabbed my keys thinking it would be smart to go get something to eat.
I park my car seeing a bunch of food trucks in the area. I reach for my purse and get out of the car heading towards one that looks like they are selling burgers.
As I'm looking at the menu I turn my head to see Liam and Hayden sitting at one of the tables right next to each other and laughing at something one of them said.
I start to walk over there a little confused because I thought they hated each other. I stop walking when I see Hayden give Liam a kiss on the cheek and grab one of his hands, just like I did in the hall.
Liam goes to lean in when I shout "I hate you Liam Dunbar."
He snaps his head in my direction with his eyes wide and his mouth open like he is going to speak but never does.
"I didn't know by family commitment you meant going out with Hayden." I yell at him trying my hardest to keep the tears in.
I see I have gotten a small coward from all the yelling "Y/n I can explain."
"Alright, go ahead." I tell him
"I-I-I." He says trying to think of something to say.
I wipe at my eyes and say "I never want to see or speak to you again."
When I reach my car I turn back to Liam who is still in the same place where I left him and I whisper "I thought you loved me. Guess I was wrong."
I knew he could hear me and I wish he would just run after me and swing me around telling me how much he loved me and we would have our happily ever after.
But I'm not a princess and he's not my prince.
