There was nothing more Y/n hated than cocky guys and Theo was just about the cockiest. Their hatred for each other had started in second grade when the two fought over who was right and who was wrong in front of the entire class. Since then the teasing and name calling between the two had been nonstop. The day Theo left Beacon Hills was a big relief for Y/N. But the day he returned the feud had resurfaced. That was until Theo made a bet.
"Girls just love me like literally any girl would die to have a chance to date me." Theo boasted.
"Sure Theo." a guy from the lacrosse team scoffed.
"I bet you 100 bucks that I can make any girl here fall for me."
"You're on Raeken."
"Okay pick one." Theo smirked as his friend looked around the room.
"Her." he said pointing to a girl on the opposite side of the room.
"Y/N? You've got to be kidding me." he grumbled.
"What? You said anyone."
"Yeah Y/n just so happens to hate my guts."
"Well this just got a whole lot more interesting." his friend smirked.
"Whatever." Theo said standing up.
"Go get her tiger." his friend laughed as Theo made his way towards where Y/n was sitting.
"Hey Y/n."
"Go away Theo." she said not looking up from the book she was reading. He pulled up a chair and sat next to her.
"So I was thinking isn't it about time we get over this little fight of ours?"
"I mean I'm all for not getting over it if that's okay with you."
"Come on Y/n let's start over. You don't even know me."
"Oh but I do Theo. You're not very hard to figure out. You're cocky, arrogant, and overconfident. You don't care for anything but yourself and your ego. You're really smart but you try to hide it. And the thing that really gets you is that you're very social except your inability to conversate with someone and actually care about what they're saying really drags you down." she said still looking at her book. Theo smirked he likes a girl who has a little fire.
"Well Y/n what you don't know about me is that everything you just listed is a facade and I want you to get to know the real me. So Y/n I want you to go on a date with me."
"Theo there is about seven billion people I'd rather go on a date with."
"Come on Y/n take a chance. Get to know the real me. I swear one date is all I'm asking. If you go on one date with me and still hate me then we never have to talk to each other again I promise."
"If the real you is anything like the you now then no thanks."
"Y/n I swear I'm not let me get a chance to prove that to you."
"Why would I want to go on a date with someone I've hated since second grade?" she said looking over at him for the first time.
"Y/n I swear I'm not that same guy. Now please let me take you out on a date. I want to see if you've changed too." she stared at him for a moment thinking. "The only rule I have is that we have to put everything behind us and start over. So what do you say?" he asked her with puppy dog eyes.
"Pick me up at seven." she said then got up and walked out of the classroom.
Theo knocked on her down at exactly seven o'clock. When she opened the door there was no denying how stunning she was.
"You look amazing Y/n." he complimented.
"Save the charm Theo." she scoffed.
"Hey come on, I had one rule." he whined.
"Fine." she sighed.
"You do look great tonight by the way."
"Thanks, you don't look so bad yourself."
Theo ended up taking her mini golfing. At first it was a little awkward between the two but they eventually broke the ice and started having a really great time. Y/n really liked the 'real' Theo. He was sweet, funny, and kind. She found herself laughing more tonight than she had in the past month. Theo was in the same shoes, he ended up really liking the girl. Her laugh was music in his ears. The way her dimples came out when she smiled made him weak in the knees. He regretted ever making that bet, he wished he would've just asked her out without any ulterior motive. By the end of the night the pair was using any excuse to touch each other whether it was him 'helping' her put or her laughing into his chest. There was no denying the two had really started liking each other.
When the night drew to an end both Y/n and Theo were sad that it was over. Theo drove her home and walker her up to her front door.
"I had a really great time tonight Theo." Y/n said tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear.
"I did too." he smiled. "I was uh actually thinking that maybe we could hang out tomorrow too?" he asked rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
"I would love that Theo." she smiled.
"Okay I'll see you tomorrow then." he smiled genuinely happy he gets to see her again.
"Night Theo." she leaned up and placed a kiss on his cheek then turned and went inside but not before noticing his cheeks get pink. Theo smiled to himself and walked back to his car feeling the happiest he's been in years. But he still couldn't shake the awful feeling in his stomach.
The next morning Theo jumped out of bed and went to go pick Y/n up for their date. He took her out for ice cream and a movie. He ended up holding her hand the whole time rubbing circles with his thumb. After the movie was over the pair didn't want to part just yet so Y/N offered to have them go back to her house and watch some TV. When honestly all she wanted to do was cuddle with him on the couch. That was exactly what they ended up doing. She sat in between his legs resting her head on his chest as he had his arms wrapped around her and his head on hers.
"Y/n?" he asked softly.
"Hmm?" she hummed.
"Would you like to be my girlfriend?" he looked down at her as she looked up at him.
"I would love to be your girlfriend Theo." she smiled. She watched as his eyes flickered down to her lips then back to her eyes then her lips again. She watched as he slowly leaned in and she wasn't backing away. She did something she'd never thought she'd do; she kissed Theo Raeken. It was undeniable now, the two were definitely falling for each other.
The two spent the following day together. Hugging, kissing, cuddling, talking, laughing, and pretty much whatever they felt like doing. Then Monday rolled around and Theo was dreading the day knowing he would have to talk to his friend. But in the morning he avoided him and ran straight towards Y/n. He found her at her locker and ran up behind her wrapping his arms around her waist, kissing her cheek, and swaying them slightly.
"Good morning beautiful." he whispered in her ear and a smile spread across her face.
"Good morning to you too handsome." that caused him to smile. Theo and Y/n were inseparable and he managed to avoid his friend the whole week by hanging out with Y/n. They hung out everyday after school whether it was studying or cuddling. And that following weekend was filled with laughter and smiles. It obvious now, they were falling for each other;hard.
The next Monday his friend had finally found him in the hallways.
"Alright Theo you won the bet, it obvious she's crazy for you." he said handing him the 100 dollars. "You're officially a lady killer man." he patted him on the back. Theo turned his head and saw Y/n standing there with tears in her eyes and a pained expression flashed across his face as she turned and ran from him.
"Shit." he mumbled. "I don't want your money man." Theo quickly said handing the money back and chased after Y/n leaving his friend confused.Theo sniffed her out and found her in the locker rooms crying. It hurt him to see her crying because of something he'd done. He carefully made his way towards her.
"Y/n.."
"Theo go away." she sniffled.
"Baby I'm really really sorry, I never mean't for you to find out."
"Find out what? That the only reason you asked me out was because of a bet." she laughed. "God how could I be so stupid, going out with a guy who's hated me since second grade, thinking maybe he had changed."
"Y/n I've changed I swear. You've made me change."
"Was any of it real?" she asked looking up at him with completely broken eyes. Theo looked straight into her eyes and he could feel his own watering. He had never felt this way before and he absolutely hated it just like he hated himself in this moment.
"Y/n I swear it was all real. The bet might of been the reason I asked you out but I swear it was all real. The second I laid eyes on you when you opened the door, it was real. I ended up falling in love with the little things you do like the way you wrinkle your nose when you laugh. I fell in love with the way your hand left in mine and the feeling of you in my arms. Y/n I ended up falling in love with you."
"How do I know you're not lying now?"
"Because if it was all a bet and none of it was real I wouldn't be here right Y/n. I'm hopelessly in love with you and it's killing me right now knowing I'm the reason why your crying. Please give me another chance, let me make it up to you." she got up and ran right into his open arms and hugged him tightly, whispering I love you back. It was so faint that if it wasn't for his wolf hearing he wouldn't have heard it. But those three words was all it took to wrap his arms tightly around her and never let go. She gave him another chance and he made it up to her.
