"First love, d'you remember what that's like?" Theo looked over at Scott.
"Yeah."
Theo's mind instantly went to Y/N. Y/N was Theo's girlfriend from where he had lived after Beacon Hills. Their love story was simple but epic. The summer before fifth grade Theo moved in across the street, and little Y/N (gap in teeth and all) trotted over to his house and introduced herself immediately.
"Hi I'm Y/N." she smiled, her little pigtails blowing in the wind.
"I'm Theo." his smile had matched hers, his first smile since the death of his sister.
"Do you want to be friends?" she asked as if it was the easiest thing in the world.
"That would be cool." he nodded and she smiled.
From that day the two had played everyday. When school had started back up the pair had stuck together. Y/N made sure Theo felt welcomed in the new school. She sat by him at lunch, played with him at recess, picked him as her partner for projects. The two had become best friends. When Theo went through his baseball phase, she joined softball. What one did the other did too. When you invited one you'd get the other.
But when they got to middle school Theo had started to hang out with the guys. It drove Y/N insane that he'd ditch her to go hang out with his little cliche. So she started hanging out with her old friends more and when Theo wanted to hang she'd blow him off even when she didn't have plans, for pay back. The summer before eighth grade the two had met each other outside and finally confronted their problem. There was some screaming but once it was resolved no one came between the two again.
Going into highschool the pair had never been closer. Each one had developed feelings towards the other but didn't want to risk their friendship so neither of them had said anything. But on Y/N's 15th birthday, Theo had come over with a present so big it wouldn't fit through the door, so she ended up opening it outside. After she had opened her teddy bear taller than her, Theo pulled out a smaller box. Inside was a necklace with a T on it. She smiled and told him she loved it but when he pulled out his necklace with her initial on it she smiled like an idiot.
They went inside and jumped on her bed. He had pulled her into his side. He gently picked up her hand and started to play with her fingers before interlocking them with his own.
"You know Y/N, I've been thinking a lot lately, and I totally understand if you don't want to or anything, and the last thing I want to do is make our friendship awkward. This friendship means everything to me really-" he started rambling.
"What are you trying to say Theo?" she asked quietly, staring at him.
"Y/N I was wondering if maybe you wanted to go out on a date?" he asked
"I think that'd be really cool." she smiled up at him.
"Really?"
"Really." she smiled.
Their relationship had mainly stayed the same. They still cuddled, had sleepovers, did stupid stuff together, had movie marathons, ordered take out, except now they added a few things to the list, they kissed a lot, held hands 24/7, sneak into empty classrooms together, whisper sweet 'I love you's', and always had an arm around each other.
The day Theo's parents had told him they're moving back to Beacon Hills was the worst day of his life. He had cried for hours, Theo hadn't cried since his sister's funeral. Around midnight he left the house and climbed up Y/N's tree and into her window (the way the two had talked to each other at night for years) with a backpack on.
"Y/N wake up." he shook her lightly.
"Theo? What are you doing here babe?" she asked rubbing her eyes.
"We're going to run away together."
"Theo that's a stupid idea, probably one of the worst you've ever had." she giggled.
"Y/N I'm serious."
"Babe think about it. We have no where to go. And why would we anyways we have a perfect life. It's summer, we're about to start senior year. I don't see why you would want to run away." she said and he sighed.
"Why are you always right." he said making her giggle.
"Okay well I guess I better get going. I'll talk to you in the morning." he sighed he made his way over to the window.
"No Theo stay." she held out her hand for him and he smiled walking back and interlocking their fingers. He pulled her close and kissed her forehead. He crawled into her bed and they drifted off to sleep.
When Y/N found out the next day she had a fit. She wished she had listened to him last night. She cried into his chest for God knows how long as he rubbed her back silently crying as well. She kept repeating how unfair it was and how they had it so good.
"Listen to me Y/N, it's only a year I swear. We've been through so much we can do this okay? I love you. I love you so so so much. In a year we'll graduate and we can go to college together and start the rest of our lives together. Okay? It's going to be perfect. I promise." he cooed to her.
Y/N had driven him to the airport, his parents told him he could spend the rest of the summer there and fly to California the week before school started. And boy they had one hell of a summer. There was not more than five minutes when they were a apart. They made sure to remind the other how much they loved them, everyday. But here they were sitting in Y/N's car, waiting for Theo to leave. They both sat in silence thinking.
She walked him up to security and they stood right outside the gate. She looked him right in the eyes and he pulled her into a hug that summed everything up. They hugged for at least five minutes, refusing to let go. When they finally did they had their goodbyes and he promised her that he'd fly down for winter break and he'd call her everyday and he'd love her forever. He left her. He got on the plane.
So far in Beacon Hills he kept his promise of calling her everyday and loving her still. She kept the same promise. The two were soulmates and no one could say otherwise. It was too obvious to even consider it. They loved each other more than anything else in the world, and that was a fact.
Theo got up, smiled to himself thinking about her, then walked out of the animal clinic leaving Scott alone.
