LIAM'S POV
Y/N is a saint, the prettiest person to ever walk this planet, the kindest girl I ever met, the one who my heart beats for. I really liked her. When I first moved to Beacon Hills she was one of the first people I saw in school and she was quick to become friends with me.
On the first day of school I couldn't find my one class so I was the only one in the hallway, with all my books in my hands, papers flying everywhere, my schedule on top so I could see what room to go in, I was a complete mess. I was panicking a little because it wasn't a good thing to be late on your first day.
"Hi, do you need help?" she asked me. I looked up at her and was in awe at how beautiful she was, her smile was stunning and I felt like I couldn't breathe.
"Uh, yes. I can't find my next class and I'm already late" I rambled on.
"Don't worry, it happens. Let me help you" she said to me. She grabbed my schedule and looked at where I was supposed to go.
"Oh, I know exactly where you need to be, follow me" she told me.
I followed her as she made her way up the stairs, I couldn't believe she was helping me, she was so sweet and generous, I liked her, and she was great.
"I'm Y/N, by the way" Y/N said to me.
"Liam. Liam Dunbar" I responded.
"What grade are you in?" she asked me.
"I'm a sophomore" I answered.
"Oh, okay. I'm a senior" Y/N told me.
"If you ever need help and see me in the halls, don't be afraid to come up to me and ask me for help. I'll help you" she said.
"Thank you, you're a great help" I whispered to her. Y/N looked at me and gave me a little smile that made my heart flutter. I stared at her in awe, "Well, here is your class. Good luck and I'll see you around" Y/N said to me, dropping me off to my class.
"Thanks Y/N! Nice meeting you" I yelled to her.
That was the beginning of our friendship. Later that same day, she saw me in the cafeteria and told me to come sit with her and her friends. She introduced me to everyone, there were two guys named Scott and Stiles and four girls, Lydia, Allison, Malia and Kira, I think their names were. I gladly sat next to her and started to befriend everyone, maybe my first day of school would be okay after all.
A few weeks passed since my first day of school and I was officially in their "pack" as they called it.
My crush on Y/N grew bigger and bigger every single day, especially when she smiled. I just loved her spirit, she was so positive, upbeat, sweet and genuine. She was beautiful and perfect in every way. When I was around her, I couldn't help but have a smile on my face as I gazed into her eyes, but then I would always tell myself to stop it because she was a few years older than me and my friend. I didn't want to ruin my new friendship with her.
READER'S POV
You were walking into the hallway of your school to go to the bathroom but you saw this young boy looking awfully confused and panicky. You went up to him to see if he needed help, it turns out that he did because it was his first day and he was already really late to class, he needed help finding his classroom.
You knew exactly where to go so you told him to follow you.
"I'm Y/N, by the way" you told him.
"Liam. Liam Dunbar" he said to you.
Liam was really adorable, he seemed to be a little shy and it was so cute. He was a sophomore, who needed some friends so you told him that he could ask for your help at any time.
During lunch, you saw Liam from across the way and yelled for him to come sit with you and your friends, Scott, Stiles, Lydia, Allison Malia and Kira.
Liam had a smile on his face while he came over and sat next to you. He seemed to fit right in and everyone took a liking to him.
A few weeks after that he was officially a part of the pack.
Liam was like your little buddy, he was always following you around, staying close by you but you loved it, he was like your little brother. You were his older protector, like his older sister.
You and Liam had a great relationship, he always came to you for advice and you always came to him if you needed a snuggling buddy or just needed someone to talk to.
LIAM'S POV
I could not stay away from Y/N, I have to admit that I was a little clingy towards her, I followed her around like a little puppy, always snuggling up to her and I just loved being around her. I was a teenage boy with a crush, I huge crush but I couldn't let anyone know. The pack would make fun of me if they knew and then they would tell Y/N. I'm okay with keeping it a secret for now. But if I'm lucky one day Y/N will realize that she likes me back.
"Liam, would you like a ride home?" Stiles came up to me and asked.
"Sure, that would be great, thanks" I replied.
Lydia and Stiles were standing at my locker waiting for me, "How are you adjusting?" Lydia asked me.
"Adjusting to what?" I asked back.
"School, the pack, life?" she responded.
"Oh, school is school. The pack is great, life is pretty good" I told them.
"Good to hear" said Stiles.
I walked out of the school with Stiles and Lydia and walked towards Stiles' jeep. I noticed Y/N on the other side of the parking lot just standing there. I thought it was really weird, and I was going to go up to her and tell her to get a ride with Stiles but a black car pulled up in front of her.
I watched as the driver's seat window rolled down, Y/N leaned in and gave the guy a kiss.
"Holy shit, no" I said.
"What? What's wrong?" Stiles asked.
"Y/N has a boyfriend?" I asked, completely shocked.
"Yeah, it's Derek" Lydia replied acting like it was no big deal.
"Derek Hale?" I asked, still in shock and I'm pretty sure my mouth was hanging in disbelief.
"Yeah, the sour wolf" Stiles replied.
"I had no idea she was dating him! She never mentioned anything" I said.
"They've been dating for over a year now buddy, get in the loop" Lydia said to me.
My heart sunk as I watched Y/N kiss Derek again and then get in his car and left.
"But, we were supposed to be together" I mumbled to myself.
Stiles put his arm around my shoulders, "Don't worry dude. It was only puppy love" Stiles said to me.
"What?" I asked.
"Liam, we knew you liked her" Lydia said to me.
"What? No, I didn't like Y/N" I replied, trying to lie.
They both looked at me with their eyebrows raised.
"Okay maybe I did. But I didn't know she was taken!" I yelled.
I felt heartbroken, she was so perfect, so sweet, funny, caring, and gorgeous and she had a boyfriend. Of course, just my luck.
"My mistake" I told Stiles and Lydia.
"Is she at least happy with him?" I asked my two friends.
"Yeah, she's really happy" Lydia answered.
"I guess that's all that matters" I said in a disappointed tone.
For the rest of the night I laid in my bed, really sad and heart broken. I was happy that she was happy but I was also sad because I really liked her and I didn't think my crush on her would just disappear.
READER'S POV
On Fridays, your boyfriend Derek always picked you up from school, it was like yours and his routine. He'd pick you up and bring you back to his loft to chill and hang out.
You loved Derek, Stiles wasn't too keen on him but you were able to get to know a side of Derek that many people don't get the chance to see. He was super handsome, protective, loyal, stubborn and a genuine guy.
When you were with your friends, you didn't talk much about him, you wanted to keep your personal life private, but of course you told Lydia and Allison everything.
Sunday morning you got a call from Liam, "Hey Li, what's up?" you asked him.
"I need to ask you something" he said, the tone of his voice made you a little weary.
"Okay Liam" you said.
"Are you dating Derek Hale?" Liam asked, even though he knew the answer already.
"Yes, I am" you told him. You heard Liam sigh.
"Yeah, I know" he mumbled.
"Then why did you just ask me?" you asked Liam.
"I wanted to hear it from you. How come you never told me you were dating him? This whole time we were friends I thought you were single" said Liam.
"I'm sorry, Li. I just like to keep that more private, you know? The guys don't like me talking about Derek in a romantic way anyways, they think it's gross" you confessed to him.
"I would have liked to know though" Liam said. Now you felt bad because you could tell Liam was upset.
"I'm sorry Liam, I promise I won't keep something like that from you ever again" you said, promising him.
"Okay" he said and then hung up the phone.
You sat on your bed and wondered why Liam was so upset.
"Liam called me today and asked me if I was dating Derek" you sent a text to Lydia.
"Yeah, he saw Derek pick you up from school the other day, he was heartbroken" Lydia replied.
"Why?" you asked her.
"He likes you" she wrote back.
It all made sense now, why he was always following you, why he was so upset, he liked you and you never even knew. Now your heart was broken because you broke Liam's heart. But you didn't know how to go about the situation, you decided to leave it alone for now, maybe give Liam some space.
LIAM'S POV
It's been a few months since I found out that Y/N was dating Derek and now it seemed like Derek was around a lot more since I knew. I had to watch him pick her up from school every Friday, he hung out with us sometimes on Saturday nights, and he was everywhere!
It was like he was taunting me.
My heart was still broken but she was happy, that's all that mattered.
One Saturday night, Scott invited everyone to his house for a movie night. Everyone went, including Derek. I scoffed at the sight of him but I told myself to get over it, move on, I was being a big baby.
Y/N sat on one side of me, Derek on her other side, "Oh great" I thought. Lucky me, sitting next to the happy couple. Just my luck.
All of us were sitting around Scott's living room, watching The Hunger Games. The whole time Y/N was giggling at something that Derek was saying, which made me a little annoyed at first.
The two of them continued to snuggle each other, giving each other kisses and being all lovey dovey. At one point in the movie I looked over at Y/N and I saw her staring at Derek. Derek was focused on the movie so he had no clue that Y/N was looking at him.
She had this big smile on her face, the skin on the sides of her eyes crinkled because she was smiling that much, her eyes were sparkling at him and I saw the happiness that she felt.
I saw the love that she had for that guy and it was at that moment that I realized that Y/N and Derek made a really cute couple. I wish it was me, but I was glad that she found someone that she loved deeply. It was actually cool to see the love she had for him, it made me a little emotional.
After the movie ended I pulled Y/N aside to talk to her.
"I need to tell you something" I told her.
She looked and me and listened.
"I have been a little upset for the past couple of weeks since I found out that you were dating Derek. I was heartbroken and hurt because I had this huge crush on you but I'm not sad anymore. I think that you and Derek are really cute together and I'm happy for you, I just wanted to get that off of my chest" I confessed to her. Y/N gave me a big smile and wrapped her arms around me, "Thank you Liam, that means so much to me!" she said.
I wrapped my arms around her and smiled, "I'm just glad you're happy" I told her.
