Paulo and my parents went way back. He'd known me from the day I was born ,my parents years more. He had no other family, so he moved around with my parents every time they'd move. He'd work as their chauffeur wherever they went.
He opened the door of the limo for me. Stepping inside the door, I threw my bag on the couch and took of my shoes. it was now 10:45 PM. The drive to the mansion would take the entire night due to traffic. I grabbed my blanket out of my messenger bag. I knocked on the window dividing me from Paulo. It slowly rolled down.
"I'm going to sleep now." He smiled, "Sleep well, miss." I nodded off into a thankfully dreamless sleep.
When I woke up the next morning, I'd begun to think that the dream had been a one time thing. I of course was wrong... I just didn't know it yet.

Paulo rolled the divider down.
"We will be at your mother's house in an hour," He said. I sighed, "Thanks." I stretched, or tried to. The ceiling was low. My muscles had tensed a bit over the night. I tried to wake myself up a bit, but I couldn't seem to get my thoughts in order.
When my head had finally cleared, I realized; I was seeing my mother in an hour. I told Paulo to not look in the back as I was changing.
I pulled my outfit from my bag. I knew that my mother would be pleased, seeing as it was the most uncomfortable thing that I'd ever worn. I wore a blue gossamer dress and gladiator sandals that laced up just below my knees.
Taking out the braid that I'd slept in, my hair bounced down my shoulders. It now had a nice waved, curly mess. Brushing it out a bit, I traced on a light shade of makeup, hoping that it would be enough to impress Mother. I checked my reflection in a small pocket mirror. I checked my reflection, trying to convince myself that I looked fine.
We pulled up to the mansion gate just as I finished. Within a few minutes, I'd said goodbye to Paulo for now. I wove goodbye to him as the limo pulled out of the horseshoe shaped driveway, then plastered a smile on my face. Once I'd gotten to the door, I knocked on the mahogony doorframe, but something was wrong. The door had swung open when I'd first touched it. It hadn't been closed.
"Dad?!?!?!?
