Chapter 20: Complications

* Thomas' POV *

Alice came out the door with her hair up but a few curls falling to her face. She got in the car and leaned over to me so she could kiss my lips.

"Hey."

"Hi."

"Let's get this over with."

"It won't be that bad."

"Let's hope not..."

She started nibbling on the ends of her jumper.

"Don't be nervous, at least we're seeing a movie so you don't actually have to talk to Zack."

"But it'll still be awkward."

"It'll be fine."

We pulled into a parking space and got out of the car. I could tell that Alice was uncomfortable but there was really nothing to worry about, I don't think.

I took her hand and walked over to the door. When we entered, the group was waiting for us and quickly noticed how our hands were interlocked. My gaze connected with Zack's as he looked at me with pained eyes and a furious face. Maybe this was going to be harder than I thought...

"Hey guys." Luke smiled and waved us over to where they all stood.

"Hi."

"So what are we going to see?"

"Not sure... Alice what do you want to see?"

She smirked.

"Sinister 2."

"No way!" Penny's eyes almost popped out of their sockets and Olivia shifted uncomfortably, even Luke's expression was more on edge.

"Oh come on! Sinister 1 wasn't scary but the second one looks a little better."

"Please don't make us do this."

"Guys we all know I win the arguments so let's just shut up and see sinister."

"Nuh uh!!"

"Yes we are, come on, it's almost my birthday."

They all looked at each other and huffed in defeat, which made me laugh. Unfortunately, Zack kept on glaring at me so my laughter didn't last for too long. He didn't scare me though, I knew I could take him.

"Ugh...fine, but it's your fault if I get nightmares."

"If we all get nightmares." Luke corrected.

"Yeh sure."

Luke left us to go and buy the tickets and Olivia and Penny were talking about how they should go to the toilet before the movie started. That meant that I had to get Alice away from Zack as soon as possible other wise it would just be the three of us and I knew she didn't want it to be awkward.

"Hey Alice, I said I would get you some sweets didn't I?"

She gave me a thankful look.

"Yeh you did! Come on, I want those strawberries and the sour cherries and some fudge!"

"Well I'm glad I brought some notes with me..."

We laughed and picked out a bag full of sweets and then went to buy them.

"I see what you did there."

"What?"

"You took me away before it was just you, Zack and I."

"Oh, well yeh, I knew you didn't want any awkward moments."

"Thank you." She wrapped her arm around mine and gave me small hug.
