* Alice' POV *

A month later...

"Alice, your going to graduation and that's the end of it."

"It doesn't feel right...not when Thomas isn't there with me."

Exactly one month had passed since I had discovered Thomas was in a coma. The doctors said that they would have to run some tests to check that his body was recovering after a few weeks, which they did. The results were that he was recovering at a small pace, but there was still a chance he might not wake up.

"Thomas will get better-"

"Might."

"...you know, we didn't want to say this to you...but your our friend..."

The girls shifted awkwardly and had guilty expressions on their faces.

"Spit it out." I didn't mean for my words to sound harsh in any way...but the tone was a little sour.

"...maybe you should...well, not give up but-"

"You's think I should stop waiting for him."

It wasn't a question, it was a statement, a fact.

"Well..."

"Um..."

"You's do."

They grimaced at me and I could feel the guilt actually radiating from their bodies. I sighed at them and sat on the bed where they were perched.

"I guess I understand why you's think that...and I also understand that you want me to be happy again, but honestly, I can't without Thomas so of course I'm going to wait. You would both do the same if you's were in my situation." I spoke softly.

"Your right."

"We're sorry, it isn't any our business anyway."

"...are you sure though? Your going to keep going to that hospital everyday and sit next to his bed till he opens his eyes?"

I nodded my head at them. I wasn't angry, of course not, they were only trying to make me move on but I couldn't- I wouldn't.

"I'll wait. I'll wait forever if that's how long it takes."

"...then we'll wait with you."

They smiled at me weakly before getting up from my bed.

"Come on, you are going to graduation."

"Whether you like it or not."

"Guys!" I moaned in protest.

"Nuh uh, if Thomas was here, he probably would have thrown you over his shoulder and spun around till you couldn't take it any longer."

I looked down at the ground as a wave of sadness came over me. If only Thomas was here to throw me over his shoulder...

"...sorry."

"S'okay."

"Come on, get dressed, we'll do your hair and makeup."

"Your not going to leave me alone if I don't go to graduation are you's?"

"Nope."

"Definitely not, now come on!"

The girls spent a few hours giving me a makeover and getting dressed themselves so we were all ready to go. Luke's minivan showed up outside of my house so we climbed in and made our way to the ceremony.
