Chapter 30: The Trip

* Alice's POV *

The week passed quickly and it was finally the weekend that Thomas and I would go away together. It had also been a week that Zack hadn't spoken to me, or anyone in general. I tried not to think about it too much though and focus on the weekend ahead. The thought of being completely alone with Thomas for two days made me nervous. I didn't know why though, it wasn't like I had never been alone with him before. Yet still, my heart thumped just that little bit faster as I imagined the two of us on our trip.

"What about this top?"

It was Friday after school and Olivia and Penny came round to help me pack my things before leaving with Thomas later on. Olivia held up a green crop top with buttons on it.

"Yeh that'll do."

"What underwear have you packed?"

"...excuse me?"

"What underwear have you pa-"

"Yeh yeh, I heard you, but still, excuse me?"

"What? You've got to make sure your wearing the right underwear for Thomas."

"Your so annoying."

"I try."

I rolled my eyes and continued packing. It was evening when the girls left and the door bell rang to signal Thomas' arrival. I zipped up my bag and made my way downstairs.

"-you guys will be safe on this trip right because I haven't got time to look after a newborn baby while Alice is at college or something."

I stopped where I was on the staircase and stared down at Sarah in shock. John stood at the door of the kitchen trying not to laugh along with Thomas. When they all looked up at me, the guys couldn't keep it in any longer and burst out laughing.

"Please tell me I did not just hear what I thought I did."

"Depends on what it was that you heard." Sarah smiled at me but I glared back.

"I am not gonna get pregnant okay! Now can you please not talk...at all."

"Someone's on their period." She muttered under her breath.

"Okay I think I hate you."

"You love me really."

"Uh huh, I keep telling myself that. Right, we need to go so I'll see you guys later."

"Bye Alice, bye Thomas!"

"Bye!"

We got into the car and started driving to our destination. It took about three hours of nice scenery and loud music to arrive at the cabin. It was situated at the side of the road along with other cabins. This one was quite private though because the trees of the forest behind curved around it like a wall separating it from the rest.

Once we were parked on the grass, Thomas got out and opened the boot of the car so he could carry all of our bags. He threw me the keys to unlock the cabin and I was actually proud of myself for catching them in one hand. I opened the wooden door to see a living room with a fireplace in the centre. All of the furniture was different but seemed to match and through a door frame was the kitchen. It was very basic and had an island counter in the middle with two metal stools at the side. I unpacked some of the food we brought and put it neatly in the fridge before pouring two glasses of tropical juice. Thomas sat at the island and gulped down half of his drink in one go.

"Thirsty?"

"Yeh."

"So what are we gonna do?"
