* Alice's POV *
If looks could kill, I wouldn't have had to put my finger on the trigger.
I glared at the three men that destroyed my childhood one last time before the bullet shot out of the gun and flew towards Isaac's head. Unfortunately, they all dodged it and got cover behind the desk.
"SO YOU WANT TO GO DOWN IN FLAMES?!"
Everyone got cover and pulled their guns out. Thomas and I had got behind the sofa opposite the desk while the others hid behind coffee tables, chairs and behind the walls.
"THEN SO BE IT!"
Isaac threw his lighter, which landed on the rug in the middle of the room; it was suddenly engulfed in flames.
I got up from the floor and started shooting at the desk. They couldn't hide behind there forever. The others got the courage to start shooting too so we all opened fire, letting the bullets fly towards our target.
The desk looked like it was about to shatter into thousands of pieces so it was time to start fighting back. I saw Ryan's head pop above the desk as he started shooting at us. I tried to aim at his head but was stopped when a bullet shot just past my face, causing me to duck. Thomas held my face for a moment to see if I was okay before we both nodded to each other and got up at the same time to fire. We were two of a kind as our bullets flew only a few centimetres away from Isaacs face and Ryan's shoulder.
But then, Kyle shifted to the side and I watched in slow motion as my bullet soared towards him and ripped straight threw him. It had only caught his shoulder but it was enough to make him fall down in agony.
"THAT BITCH SHOT ME!"
"FUCK!"
I couldn't help but smirked when their furious eyes connected with mine and my finger inched towards the trigger again. Then, one of Thomas' bullets hit Ryan's leg. He too fell to the floor and whimpered in pain before getting his gun again and shooting back at us.
We took a moment to get cover while the others continued shooting. Our backs were against the sofa and our chests moved up and down as we tried to get our breath back. I looked at Thomas as he looked at me and smiled. He grabbed my hand and squeezed it tightly.
"We're gonna survive this."
I was filled with hope...but I didn't want to be. I couldn't get my howls up that we would survive this, especially unscathed. Yet still, I was gonna try to make sure we did. We both took another deep breath then moved so we could shoot again. I could see that Ryan was still on the floor trying to shoot at Luke and Kyle was using his other arm to use his gun. Isaac wasn't doing anything though. It was as if he was waiting for me to appear again because as soon as I did, his gun was pulled back up and the bullets were sent soaring.
The fire in the middle of the room was getting bigger and bigger. It's heat made me sweat and the smoke filled the room. My eyes were starting to burn and it was getting hard to breathe but I couldn't let any of it be a distraction as I aimed at my targets.
By now, the guards around the building would be able to hear our gunshots and would be making their way over to us. If they got into the room, we would all be dead, we couldn't protect ourselves from every angle so we had to make sure they couldn't enter. Though, that meant possibly trapping ourselves in a room engulfed in flames- brilliant.
"We need to block the door!"
I shouted over to Thomas who turned around to Penny, who was closest to the door. She had heard my voice and knew what she had to do but I could see the fear in her eyes. I nodded to her and started moving towards her.
