* Thomas' POV *
There was something wrong, I knew it. Something that Alice didn't want to tell me. The night had continued with movies but I didn't watch any of them. Instead, I kept my eyes on her, studying her expression. It was emotionless...too still. Though, her eyes showed something totally different. They looked pained and scared. I wanted to ask her again if there was something wrong but she would just say she was fine. She was hiding something, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.
Ever since the news came on, she changed. I tried to rack my brain for ideas of what it could be but nothing came. Why did those three names on the news sound so familiar? There was something I was missing. I hadn't joined all of the dots together, I had forgotten something important. Although, maybe I was overthinking everything... No, I knew Alice. I knew her from the inside out- Something was definitely wrong.
The movie marathon finally ended and everyone was going home. I tried to act like everything was normal till I was alone with Alice. She stayed very quiet throughout the car journey to her house. Once we had parked outside, I turned my head to look at her.
"Alice."
"Yes?"
"I know there's something wrong, why won't you tell me?"
"There's nothing wrong Thomas, honestly."
"Alice-"
"Will you come inside?"
"...okay.""
"Will you stay with me?"
"If you want me to."
"I always want you to."
She grabbed my arm and rushed upstairs to her room. As soon as the door was closed, her lips crushed desperately against mine. I didn't know why I couldn't get the idea out of my head but even the kiss felt...different. Sort of like it was the last time we were ever going to kiss. I pushed the thought to the back of my head and focused on her lips against mine.
"I love you Thomas, I love you so much."
"I love you too Alice."
* Alice's POV *
My eyes fluttered open in the middle of the night and a single tear drop fell onto Thomas' chest. I had woken up from a nightmare of what was about to come. My face slowly lifted so I could look at the little pool the tear left on his skin. My thumb wiped it away and my eyes travelled up to his face. He looked so peaceful when he slept, so innocent. Another tear fell down my cheek and I couldn't stop the quiet sobs that escaped from my lips.
I was going to have to do something so heart wrenching and horrible that I couldn't think about it without having to keep back the water that wanted to flood out of my eyes like a waterfall.
Then, Thomas' eye lids slowly opened so I quickly wiped away all of the water from my cheeks and tried to change my expression.
"...What are you doing awake?"
He put his hand on my cheek as he whispered and looked at me with honest, worried eyes.
"...just a dream that woke me up."
"Was it a nightmare?"
"Yeh."
"It's okay, I won't let anyone harm you."
