Friday of a lifetime

I woke up the next day to the biggest shock of my life. Don't get me wrong, it was a good shock, but at first it scared the skin off me, causing me to get tangled in my bed sheets, fall off the side of the bunk and crash painfully to the ground, all the while with a light tone of continuous laughter filling my ears.

Now, if anyone knows my best friend, they know she is one of those people who laugh first, care later. Unless that person was me; then she would simply laugh no matter what.

"Emily, what the hell are you doing here?" I snapped, lifting myself off the ground.

"What does it look like?" She asked, gesturing behind me and to her body.

Looking behind me, I noticed half-unpacked bags and when I looked back over at her, my eyes widened when I realised what she was wearing.

"Why are you in the school uniform?" I asked her, gasping. "Weren't you expelled?"

"Ethan was expelled," she winked. "Not Emily, so I'm allowed to be here,"

"You... Are so sly," I laughed, hugging her tightly. "But why would you come back?"

"By best friend and boyfriend both go to this school, why wouldn't I come?" She laughed. "And besides, I love seeing your life unfold,"

"Wrong, you love to laugh at how terribly wrong everything in my life goes," I sighed, letting her go.

"I tried to make it sound nice, but if you want it that way, I can go with that too," she grinned.

"Anyway," I sighed heavily, "why are you here today? I was told the new students weren't coming until Monday!"

"Exactly," she said. "New students. I've been here before, so the principle said I could come today and then help you out on Monday,"

How nice of her, I thought to myself. I thought she hated me.

Oh, don't you worry, the extra two people are probably horrible, and she probably chose them for a reason.

Seriously, will you EVER actually help me out in a situation and make me feel happy for once?

No, probably not.

With a sigh I walked over to the bathroom and decided to get ready for school. I had biology first today, then I would have to go sign up do my sports at lunch, and then after school would be the dormitory leader meeting.

I was not looking forward to today.

As I sat in biology, I couldn't help but groan at how long the lesson felt. I mean, it usually feels long, but never this long. So, in my boredom, I decided to listen in on what the teacher was saying.

"Alright, so we have gone through the classification hierarchy, we can finally go onto the actual living things which we organize into the hierarchy,” Mr.  Colton droned. “First thing’s first; the five Kingdoms. Monera, Protoctista, Fungi, Animalia and Plantae are those five Kingdoms. Now, for this term we will only be focusing on Animalia,”

He continued on for a while, but I lost interest. Only Animalia? That’s ridiculous. They should be learning all five if they were going to get through Biology. I could tell you the scientific name of any animal in a heartbeat.

“Now, Starting with the class Mollusca,” I heard Mr. Colton continue, instantly causing my ears to prick up.

Class? Did he just say Class? Mollusca is a Phylum! What sort of Biology teacher is he?!
