Standing in my ruffled pyjamas with my mattered hair, my brain was slowly clicking awake and comprehending the words that had just been spoken to me.

"Going out..." I mumbled more to myself than anything. "Today... Movies... Wait. Are you asking me out on, like, a date right now?"

"Well, yeah," Blake sheepishly asked, scratching the back of his head.

"Why?" I stupidly asked, my brain still half asleep.

"Because I haven't taken you on a proper date yet," he murmured, shyly looking away. "And I wanted to show you what I'm capable of,"

"Jesse for gods sake," Emily groaned from her bed. "Just say yes already,"

"Wait, why?" I replied.

"Blake," Emily called out to him, completely ignoring me. "Give me half an hour with her and you can take here wherever you have planned,"

"Okay," Blake smiled his sweet smile before closing the door and leaving the dorm.

"Emily, I'm tired, why do I have to go outside on a Saturday?"

"Because," Emily rolled her eyes, standing up and waking to her wardrobe. "Blake's a nice guy and he deserves a chance. You've had dates with Kalem already, so spice it up a little,"

"Hey, those dates were to repay debts with," I grumbled sourly. "It's not like I wanted to go,"

"Yeah, yeah," Emily nodded. "Come here and let me pick something out for you,"

"Why can't I wear my own clothes?" I huffed as I sleepily made my way over to her.

"Because it's a proper date. You have to try and look girly,"

"My clothes are girly," I yawned.

"No, Jesse, they aren't," Emily sighed heavily. "Wake up already, I want to see you freak out about all this before you leave,"

"Freak out about what?" I mumbled, rubbing my eyes as she held up two dresses before me.

"Everything," she shrugged. "But stay sleepy until you put this on,"

"I'll go have a shower," I nodded, taking the dress she was holding out and going to the bathroom.

After taking a rejuvenating warm shower, I dried myself and put on the clothes. Stretching a little to try and wake myself up I checked out my reflection in the mirror.

"Well this is nice," I nodded, liking the look of the white skater dress with a lace pattern on the skirt.

As I continued to admire it though, my eyebrows slowly furrowed together.

"Wait why am I willingly in a dress?" I asked myself, meeting my own reflection.

Ever so slowly, the events of this morning all finally settled down in my brain.

"Oh god," I breathed. "What am I doing,"

Quickly exiting the bathroom I immediately ran up to Emily and shook her shoulders in a frenzy.

"EMILY I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING," I exclaimed. "Why did you agree for me to go on this date? I can't go on a date with Blake!!"

"And why not?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

"B-because it's, uh...," I tried to find a reason but came up short.

"Blake is a really sweet guy Jesse," Emily said, gently grabbing my hands. "You should give him this chance,"

"But I haven't been on a date willingly before," I squeaked. "What do you do on dates?"

"You have fun," Emily laughed. "Let Blake take the lead today, and I promise you'll enjoy yourself,"
