After the competition, Jace and I finally found the chance to change back to ourselves before heading to the hospital to meet up with the others. When we arrived, everyone was in the waiting room; changed back into every day clothes and sitting silently. Once they saw us, Patrick was the first to stand.
"How did you go?" He asked quickly, a rare, worried expression on his face.
"That doesn't matter right now," I quickly retorted. "How is Emily?"
"She is getting stitched up now," Hayden murmured, his face downcast.
I made my way over to him and sat down. Gently, I placed my hand on his arm and squeezed.
"She'll be alright Hayden," I smiled gently, causing him to look over at me.
"I know she will," he sighed heavily. "But I wasn't there and couldn't stop it from happening,"
"None of us could, even she didn't realise until the last minute. So don't beat yourself up over it okay?" I pleaded. I didn't want to see my friend like this, especially my best friends boyfriend.
"Yeah, I know but I'm just worried," he sighed heavily. "Isn't this what boyfriends are meant to do?"
I couldn't help but smile. I was glad he was with Emily; if it were anyone else it wouldn't work out this great.
Suddenly, a doctor appeared out from behind a door and glanced over at all of us. Gesturing to my mother, she walked over to him and they talked for a while as the rest of us waited in silence.
When she looked back at us, she smiled gently and gave us a thumbs up, which let out a sigh of relief from everyone. After a few more seconds of talking, my mother came back and explained what was going on.
"Everything went well, and the doctor says she will be able to come out tomorrow so long as nothing gets infected," she said gently. "But, her whole foot is damaged and she will be on crutches until the wounds heal over which could take up to three or four weeks,"
"She's going to hate the next month," I sighed. "And that means she can't participate in the Sports carnival,"
"Exactly," my mother nodded. "But at least she will be alright. She's staying over night, and since she's still a bit out if it from the drugs, the doctor is only allowing one visitor in today,"
"Hayden can go," I instantly replied, shocking everyone. "He's the most worried, and naturally, this is the boyfriends job in place of the parents,"
"Wow," I heard Harrison mutter under his breath.
"She is right," Patrick nodded, looking over at me. "But I thought you would be the one who wanted to see her the most,"
"Don't get me wrong," I sighed, scratching my neck. "I want to see her as much as everyone, but right now she needs her boyfriend,"
"We can come see her tomorrow when she gets discharged then," Jace smiled gently, squeezing my hand.
"Yeah, we can," I replied giving him a small smile.
And with that, my mum took Hayden to Emily's room while the rest of us got ready to head back to the Academy.

Once we arrived, several major things happened before I was finally able to go to bed. The first happened the second we were all back on school grounds.
As I was walking back to my dorm, a little behind everyone else, two arms wound themselves around my waist and hugged me tightly.
"Wha-?" I exclaimed, trying to get out of the embrace but nothing seemed to work.
