As I closed my eyes, preparing for something bad to happen, a flame with hints of red and orange came our way, directing to Hannah.

She ran away quickly, trying to avoid the flames, almost as if that was its weakness. It retreated quickly in the shadows, as I had a chance to get back up on my feet.

A man with flamethrower was behind me, he looked exactly like the man that was standing outside our house, looking at me through the window.

"You should have never come back." He said in a gravelly voice.
I didn't reply, I felt so afraid of his powerful presence.

He followed me back to the lodge, which I actually wanted him to do, since he was the only one with experience in this area, and we desperately needed his help.
"Thank you, for helping me." I muttered, as I finally found my voice beneath the fear. He nodded his head as a simple reply.

I knocked on the familiar door quickly, begging for them to open it as fast as they could, not wanting to get stuck with this unknown creature in the cold outside.

Chris opened the door with a confused expression on his face. "He is with me." I said as I allowed the man to enter the lodge with me.

"Who the fuck is that?" Mike said protectively, as he took out his gun, pointing it to him.

The man grabbed the gun and thrown it to the floor, as he laughed.
"O-okay." Mike stuttered quietly.
"I just saved this girls life..and you need to be more aware of this situation." He said slowly.
"There is creatures roaming this mountain, my mountain. And they will not stop until they can have you, to eat you." He whispered dramatically.

Ashley started to panic, as so did Jessica.
"Bullets do not kill them, although fire does. It takes a long time to kill a wendigo.." He admitted.

Everyone looked around between each other afraid of this situation. "Look after yourselves, I don't know why you came back to this mountain after last year." He muttered.
"How do you know about last year? Did you kill them?" Mike questioned.
"No, I tried to help them." His voice had no emotion, as he said it as it is.

My eyes scanned across the room trying to find josh, I saw him in the corner of the room, looking spaced out. He seemed out of it.

The old man started to leave the building, as I begged for him to stay, "we need you here!" I asked.
"I can't stay..you have to look after yourselves. Oh and stay still, they can't see you if you stay still." He added the last little bit of information, as he left the building.

He left a flamethrower here, which mike immediately picked up, for defence.

Josh finished daydreaming as he noticed me standing with my head in my hands, mainly from the overwhelming fear I just experienced.

"Lauren..?" He asked me, almost as if he didn't think I was actually here.
I walked up to him slowly, as I saw his mouth start to form into a smile.

He ran up to me, too excited and glad to see that I was okay. He hugged me tightly, as his body was squeezed against mine to the point where there was no room between us both, as I wasn't able to move.

"I am glad to see that you are okay..but I am angry that you would do something like that for me." He said as he slowly rocked us back and forth.

I rested my head on his chest, feeling comfortable and reassured as I heard his heart beat with every loud thump

Mike interrupted our moment as his voice echoed through our ears.
"Why did you bring that back in here?" He shouted, I rolled my eyes, as I disconnected our hug.
"He couldn't have killed Jessica mike, he was with me in his room the whole time.." I whispered, feeling ashamed even though I didn't do anything.
