Until Dawn (Josh x OC)

Chapter 26: A Surprise.

The smell of food and burning woke me up, as I wiped my eyes, trying to figure out what was going on.

"Oh god..oh fuck man." I heard josh whisper loudly as I could see him struggling to produce a full plate of food.

My voice slightly shook since I had only just woken up from my nap, "J-josh?" I asked him concerned.

He looked at me, and his cheeks immediately turned red. I have never seen him so embarrassed before.
"Lauren I..I was going to..I am sorry." He said nervously as he hesitated.

I stood up, so I could see what he was doing, as I noticed him trying to cook me a proper meal but most of the food was burnt.

The lights were dimmed down, and there were two candles lit on the table.

My heart skipped a beat slightly, as I was overwhelmed by his romantic gestures.

"I really tried.." He muttered as he held his head in his hands in frustration and stress.

I walked over to him and I wrapped my arms tightly around his torso.
"It's okay..you did great." I said quickly.

He sighed loudly, "I never do anything right."

"You do josh. It's just cooking, you have never been that good at cooking have you." I said jokingly.
"My fortay in cooking is toast." He said whilst laughing.

"How about we just get some pizza?" I asked him.
"That sounds good." He said as he turned his body around so he could face me.

I kissed him as a sort of thank you, his romantic actions had made me feel so humble and thankful that I had him by my side.

"You even put some candles out." I said in shock and awe.
"I wanted to do a special meal for you, so I could apologise for how much I was a dick before and that you are the most special person in my life..I-I am not going to lose you again."

My eyes started to water from his sweet comments.

"Get ready." He ordered me, with a large smirk.
"Why? Where are we going?" I asked him confusedly.
"No where, lets just pretend we are going somewhere fancy. I want to make you feel special, so we might as well dress up in that way."

I smiled as I agreed to his wish, "Okay, I will dress up all 'fancy' for you." I said whilst laughing as I walked to my room.

As soon as I entered into my bedroom, I noticed that there were red rose petals scattered all over my bed.

"What is that for?" I questioned josh with a smirk.
"That is for later." He winked, which made me laugh.

I heard the door bell ring whilst I was still searching through my cupboard for a sexy yet elegant dress.

Josh must have gotten the door as I had heard him talking, that was when I had chosen the perfect dress.

It was a black dress, it had a laced pattern at the top and was short and tight as it clung onto my body. (Picture of the dress is above).

I slowly walked outside of my room, as I saw josh re-lighting the candles, as he had already put the pizzas onto separate plates for the both of us.

Josh must have got changed as well, as I could see him wearing a fancy yet sexy black suit that made him look taller and slim.

"Wow.." I murmured to josh which made him turn around to face me quickly.
"You look handsome." I said as I walked over to him, excitedly.

He laughed with a smirk as he bit down onto his bottom lip staring down at my body in the dress.
"Don't you look tasty." He growled, as he squeezed my bottom, playfully.

"So do you." I said as I kissed his cheek. His hands pushed me gently to the table, as he pulled out my chair for me, in a gentlemen manner, which I thanked him for.

There was wine in both of our glasses, which I had started to drink. It was sweet and was icy cold, which tasted great.

We had both began to eat our couple of slices of pizza, until we were both full.

"That was lovely." I said to josh with a smile, as I also finished my drink of wine.
"It was." He said as he grabbed my hand in his, as he squeezed it slightly.

Before I could say anything else, josh passed me a bag as a surprise.
"What is this?" I asked him, confused.
"It is a present, I wanted this day to be special." He said sweetly.

"You didn't have to get me anything!" I said overwhelmed in happiness from his sweet actions.

I let go of his hand so I could look through the bag he had just passed over to me.

Inside of the bag was a bouquet of red roses, some chocolates and tickets.

"Thank you!" I said as I showed him a large smile.
I looked more in detail at the two tickets as I felt my heart sink.

It revealed two tickets for the soon to be 30 Seconds to Mars concert.
"No way.." I said in shock.
He laughed as he smiled at me, "Yes way."

I got out of my seat immediately as I ran over to him, as he got out of his seat also.

"I love you so much." I said as I wrapped my arms around his body.
"I love you too, beautiful."

I kissed him passionately, as I felt his hands grip onto my waist. Josh stopped the kiss slowly, which made me feel sad and disappointed.

He rushed over to the table as he put on a song from his phone, it was a slowed down classical and romantic song.

"Lauren..care to join me?" He stretched his arms out towards me.

I put my arms around his neck, as josh put his hands back onto my waist tightly.

He swayed us back and forth into a really slow dance, as a sigh of happiness and relief escaped my lips.

I closed my eyes slowly, "Why are you closing your eyes?" He asked me, confusedly.
"I am taking in the moment..I don't want this to end." I said peacefully.

He laughed as he pecked my lips romantically.

I leant my head against his chest, as I felt so relaxed and calmed down.

*knock* *knock* *knock*
The sudden loud knocks on my front door had made me jump.

"Open up!" I heard two men shout which worried me.

I let go of josh as I opened the door, nervously.

In front of me there were two police officers looking nervous and angry.

"Uhm..hello?" I said puzzled.
"We have come to talk to Lauren Sullivan..is that you?" They asked me quickly.
"Y-yes." My voice shook in fear.
"What is the problem officers?" Josh asked them concerned as he stood behind me, protectively putting his arm onto my shoulder.

"It is about James.."
