Until Dawn (Josh x OC)

Chapter 8: Sorrow.

I grabbed onto Ashley's hand tightly, as I managed to pull her away from the grip of the creature.

"Ah! No.." Emily screamed, as the creature took her away, her screaming stopped as we had realised, that was the end for Emily.

"E..Emily." I muttered, my voice trembling in fear, sorrow and regret.
"Thank you! Thank you so much!" Ashley cried of relief. I stood there shaking in fear, when I had remembered that these creatures will soon be after us.

"Run!" I whispered, as me and Ashley ran back out of the long path, finding ourselves at the entrance of the mine.

I could see someone lying on the floor, in immense pain, as someone was next to him, checking to see if that person was okay.

I ran as quickly as I possibly could to see a horrific sight. It was josh. Chris was standing next to him.

My hands were shaking in fear of losing him all over again, "josh?" I cried out in fear, as I knelt down to his pale body.

Blood was falling from his mouth, as I could see a deep cut in his stomach, I was speechless as I fell to Josh's side.

Everyone was talking around me, as I felt as if I wasn't there. Everything slowed down, there voices was slow and not understandable as I held onto Josh's hand.

I felt someone's hand grab my shoulder, shaking me gently, trying to make me snap out of it, as I noticed mike above me, next to Sam.

"Jessica, did she make it?" I whispered to mike, not wanting to make a scene.
Mike shook his head, as he looked down to the ground in frustration.
"Where's Emily..?" Sam asked quickly.
"G..gone." Ashley whispered, as we all looked around hopelessly.

I could see Josh's health deteriorating, as I felt so afraid. "We need to get him inside, it's too cold out here for him." I shouted at chris, feeling a mix of intense emotions.

With everyone gathered together, we all decided to return to the lodge, so we could go inside, where josh could quickly rest, so we can leave this place.

Mike and chris wrapped their hands around Josh's arms, trying to pick him up and take him back to his lodge.

Josh was in extricating pain, his face was scrumpled up, as he began to lose his colour, quickly.

Josh's POV:

My body began to feel as if it was shutting down, as my feet were being dragged through the cold snow, beneath me.

All I could think of was Lauren.

I wanted to hear her cheerful laugh one more time. To see her beautiful smile again. To feel her lips against mine, possibly for the last time.

I couldn't imagine anything bad happening to her, I desperately wanted my arms to be wrapped around her, so I could protect her and tell her that everything will be okay.

I could die happy just by knowing that she was happy.

The reason why I had blood escaping my body was because of the mines. A creature managed to cut deeply into my skin, piercing it, allowing blood to pour out. It's nails were almost like knives, having no difficulty to cut through tough muscles within the body.

Whilst I was helping chris from being attacked, I got attacked myself, and now I don't feel so good. Infact, I don't know if I will get out of this alive, which doesn't scare me as much as you think it would. I am not afraid of death. I am not afraid of dying, mainly because I don't have much to live for. Although, I am afraid of losing Lauren. The idea of never seeing her again makes me feel depressed and completely alone.

I need Lauren.

My head was buzzing loudly, I wasn't able to hear anything clearly from the pain, as I strained to figure out what everyone was saying around me.

Lauren opened the lodge door for me, as she ran to my side.
I could see her soft lips moving quickly, as I managed to create a small smile.

It was too difficult for me to try and understand what she was saying, so I just stared into her eyes, not wanting to look away, as I got to admire her most beautiful features for longer.

My hearing was terrible at this point, and I couldn't hear a thing, that was until I felt mikes hand apply pressure to my stomach, trying to make the blood loss less dramatic.

That immediately made me feel a lot better, as I could hear her calming voice echo through my ears. My throat was sore, and wrecked from shouting, although I tried my hardest to speak for her.

"I.." I coughed, trying to finish my sentence with my last efforts.
"I didn't get to tell you.." I carried on, as I felt Lauren's hand hold onto mine.
"That I love you lauren, always have..and I always will." My voice was shaking mostly from pain, but also from my passion.

I could see her crying slightly, I hoped it was from joy, although I knew it was from this sorrow. It hurt me so much to see her cry, it made me want to cry also.

My eyes closed as I felt my head throb once again, but with more pain this time.

"I need you." She repeated as she kept squeezing my hand, trying to keep me alive, or aware of what's going on.

Everyone rushed over to me with support and guidance, as they tried to gather things to help me.

The guilt I had been feeling was too intense, as I felt so bad for dragging everyone back to this place. Most of the people were crying around me, as Lauren was non-stop crying beside me.

Emily, Jessica and matt wouldn't have died if it wasn't for me bringing them back, I felt so bad and guilty.
But I mostly felt so sorry for Lauren, as I had put her through this trauma, deliberately. Although I didn't mean for it to get this far.

"I..I am so sorry Lauren. So..sorry." I muttered, until I felt a sharp sting to my stomach, as they had put some sort of liquid almost like alcohol over my wound, trying to demolish all of the bacteria that was beginning to develop in my wound.

The pain was too much, as my whole body shakes in fear and pain. My eyes closed quickly, as I had blacked out. The last thing I heard was, "I forgive you.." Blurt out of Lauren's mouth.
