The day begins with Kim, Kris, and Jonathan waking up and having breakfast at Kim's home after obtaining the volcano badge the day before.
Kim: wow the day has finally come that we go back to Viridian City to battle the Viridian gym leader.
Kris: are you sure you are ready to battle the gym leader?
Kim: no I think I want to train some! What kind of Pokémon are we going to face there?
Kris: I don't know? I wish I knew who the gym leader is and what kind of Pokémon he or she uses!
Jonathan: me too!
Kim's mom: oh I think I heard that the person that took over the gym leader position in Viridian city uses all different types!
Kim: What? I thought that each gym only had one type!
Kris: that is usually the case, but I guess in this case the person that took over did not want to do that and created a strong team that the gym leader association approved.
Kim's mom: yes this gym leader used to be a champion at one time!
Kim: how do you know this mom?
Kim's mom: you will have to wait and see when we get there. I want to keep it a surprise!
Jonathan, Kris, and Kim: sounds fun, I can't wait!
Kim: I want to train some to make sure that I am ready though!
Kris: so do I!
Jonathan: so do I!
Kim finds and catches another Poliwag. She then trains her Poliwag at the water front. Her Poliwag evolves into a Poliwhirl. Kim trains it more and then gives it a waterstone. It evolves into a Poliwrath. She then fishes and finds a second Goldeen.
Kim: Goldeen vs Goldeen. This will be fun!
She battles and then catches the Goldeen! While she is battling it her Goldeen evolves into a Seaking.
Kris: Hey Kim want to battle?
Kim: sure bring it on!
Kris : Ponyta spotlight!
Kim: Machop come on out!
The battle goes on for a little while and then there is a glow from each Pokémon!
Kris: yes I was hoping you would evolve! Way to go Rapidash!
Kim: yes I got Machoke! Kris let's end this battle here since you and I got what we wanted from the battle!
Kris: that's fine!
Jonathan: hey I want to battle!
Kim: ok Geodude and Geodude come on out!
Jonathan: oh a double battle!
Kim: yep!
Jonathan: ok then I will use my Eevee and Cubone. The battle begins.
After a while both of Kim's Geodude evolve into Graveler. She then returns them and brings out Tony (Nidoran boy) and lucky (shiny Nidoran girl)
Just then Jonathan's Cubone evolves. He switches it out and then brings out Ekans.
Kim: a poison battle!
Jonathan: well poison and fairy battle!
Kim: what?
