Chapter 3: Let's Go To The Viridian Forest!

The day begins with our two friends waking up and heading for breakfast. Our two trainers talk about what there plans are on their journey.

Kim: Good Morning Kris!

Kris: Good Morning Kim! How did you sleep? I slept like a baby!

Kim: I couldn't sleep! I was too excited thinking about what I did yesterday and what we will be doing today.

Kris: Hey Kim what are you wanting to do on this journey?

Kim: What? What do you mean by what do I want to do on this journey? I want to collect Pokémon.

Kris: Na genius, that is not what I mean! Are you training to compete in gym battles, or Contest like a coordinator. Are you thinking of becoming a breeder, a gymleader, a Pokémon master, or a Pokémon champion.

Kim: oh I don't know. I never really even thought about it. I want to fill my Pokédex with data on all 719 Pokémon. My goal is to become strong enough to beat my dad's Pokémon. He's a trainer too and he is training somewhere. I hope to find him while I am on this journey. What are you striving to do?

Kris: I'm a Gymleaders daughter. I want to become a Gym Leader like my mom. The only problem is I don't know what type of Pokémon is the right type for me. So I am collecting some of every type till I figure out which type I want to go with. Right now I was thinking flying but that might change. I hope to find a Spearow soon. They are one of my favorite flying types. Along with a Taillow, but that Pokémon is not available in this region. I hope to one day go to all six regions. Who knows, there might be more regions than that.

Kim: Whoa slow down there Professor!

Kris: what do you mean, as she pushes up her glasses.

Kim: uh never mind.

Kim: Oh wow, there are a lot of things to choose from. Maybe I will start with battling gyms to get stronger. Oh and contest sound cool too! Maybe I will give that a try. A friend of mine told me about dancing with your Pokémon, maybe I might try incorporating that into my battle and contest styles. Maybe I will try to become Champion and become the strongest Pokémon trainer in the world. I guess I could also look into becoming a Pokémon master. I guess I will just try things until I find what I like.

Kris: Wow that sounds like fun, and interesting too. Say are you afraid of bug type Pokémon?

Kim: uh no! Why? There are lots of cool bug type Pokémon. Especially the flying ones like Butterfree and Beedrill.

Kris: Eew, yuck, gross I don't like them at all. Which I guess is why I have been stuck here in Viridian city instead of moving on with my Pokémon adventure.

Kim: What, why are you stuck here? Are there bug Pokémon ahead?

Kris: Yes, the next stop is through the Viridian forest. There are lots of bug Pokémon in there. I can't stand it! I am not going into there by myself, but maybe if you and I were to go together, it wouldn't be so bad.

Kim: Sounds cool to me! Like I said before I love bug type Pokémon. Hey maybe I'll catch some more Pokémon while I am in there. Maybe even some bug Pokémon will be strong enough for me to catch while I am in there.

Kris: If you do catch bug Pokémon please keep them away from me!

Kim: I can't make any promises.

Kris: I guess I should catch more Pokémon too. I don't want to look bad with only three Pokémon if a trainer were to stop me and ask for a battle. Hey before we go can we stop by the pokémart so that I can pick up some more Pokéballs?
