Chapter 45: Friends Meeting New Friends/Old Friends!

The day begins with Kim waking up early as usual. She decides to head out of the Pokémon center and explore the new city! While she is walking she sees some water and decides to go fishing! A young boy is looking into the water! Kim looks at the boy and wonders what he is thinking. After a while Kim sticks her fishing pole into the water.

After a while of waiting ....
Nothing on the reel. She takes a few steps to the right and tries again. Success! A Pokémon is on the line.

Kim: oh I have a bite!
She starts to tug the reel.

Kim: come on!

Boy: here let me help you!

With the boys help Kim reels in a Corphish.

Kim: Pikachu use thundershock!

Kim then throws a pokéball and catches it.

Boy: whoa nice catch the name is Max!

Kim: Max, now where have I heard that name before?

Boy: I live here in town and when I am not on my own journey, I come to see how my mother and father are doing.

Kim: you look familiar, but the person I knew was about my age. Wait do you have a sister?

Max: yes, I sure do! Her name is .....

Kim *interrupting Max*: May?

Max: yes that's right, how did you know that?

Kim: my cousin went on a journey with a young boy named Max and an older sister named May!

Max: wait, who is your Cousin? (Talking to himself.... This girl couldn't be Kim, could it?)

Kim: my cousin's name is Ash Ketchum!

Just then Jonathan and Kris run over to where Kim is.

Jonathan: there you are Kim, we've been looking all over for you!

Kim: sorry guys, I went out early this morning to explore the city, and met up with an old friend.

Max: hi there the name is Max, and you are.....?

Jonathan: my name is Jonathan, I'm Kim's boyfriend!

Kris: my name is Kris.

Max: nice to meet you two. Kim and I go way back, back when my sister and I traveled with Kim's cousin to Pallet Town.

Kim: I was only 10 almost 11 years old at the time. I remember I was getting all excited because I was about to start my adventure as a Pokémon trainer.

Max: oh yeah I was 7 that year.

Jonathan: I live in Pallet Town too, but I don't remember ever seeing you!

Kim: it was a very quick visit. They didn't stay long! Besides I think you had just had your 11th birthday and had just started your Pokémon adventure when they came.

Max: where is Ash these days? He promised me that he and I would have a battle after I became a Pokémon trainer!

Kim: I am not sure, I was going to ask you that same question.

Max: it has been four years since I last saw you or Ash Ketchum! I am now an official trainer! In fact I am turning eleven today!

Kim: wow Max, happy birthday! Which Pokémon was your first Pokémon? Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip?

Max: My first Pokémon was Treecko followed immediately by a Ralts! I met the Ralts awhile back when I was on the trip with Ash and my sister. Along time ago, that Ralts and I made a pact to become partners when I became of age to become a Pokémon trainer.
