  Completing the mission

The next morning they woke up and were getting ready to leave, "Are you really leaving?" asked Sojourner feeling sad. "Yes I have a mission to complete" said Sonic, "We thank you all for your help our village can be restored now thanks to you" said Jerf, "I'll miss you" said Sojourner looking down. Sonic hugged him, "I'll always be here Sojourner when ever you need me I'll be at the other village there we can play" said Sonic, Sojourner smiled and nod. The villagers and everyone wave goodbye to the young ones as they left. They renter the forest and continue to the village, "This is more interesting when you see you almost completed almost most of your mission" said Tails. Sonic looked over at Tails curious, "What do you mean?" Sonic asked, "I mean you solved the village's attack problem now all it is left is for their harvest and there economic problem" said Tails. "Yes by the way how do you know so much Tails?" Sonic asked, "Well un like most kids I read.... allot" said Tails, "I see that's interesting" said Sonic. "So how far are we from the village?" Tails asked, "We are getting closer" said Shade, "That's good it means we are almost to our destiny" said Sonic. Tails heard something, "There is a predator near by" said Shade they four stop, this time a puma of black came out, "Stop back!" yelled Shadow getting in front of Sonic. "A puma!" Sonic went to it and hugged it's neck and cuddle to it, "It's so cute!" Sonic said, "I swear sometimes Sonic is just too confident" said Tails. "You don't have to fear" the puma could speak through telepathy like Shadow. "A telepathic puma?" asked Shade, "I am Artemis goddess of animals, hunting, and wilderness" she said, then she transformed to a puma girl dressed in a short knee-length chiton and equipped with a hunting bow and quiver of arrows. "Artemis?" Tails asked, "Yes I was send here to lead you to the village it seems it has a secret entrance and you will need my help" she said. "Yay! Another god" said Sonic clapping, Artemis smiled and petted Sonic's head, "Such sweet innocence" said Artemis. Artemis started to lead them to the village's secret entrance, "So the village is hidden?" Tails asked, "Yes young mortal they tried to hide the village to avoid many confrontations" said Artemis. "So your taking us I guess we don't have a problem" said Sonic giggling, "Yes see that waterfall there in that stream?" Artemis asked, "Yeah?" Sonic said, "You must pass it, it is dark inside but it will get clear the closer your to the village but since your gods you will have no problem with that" said Artemis, "Aren't you coming?" Sonic asked. "Yes I'll meet up with you but I must do some hunting now" said Artemis as she transformed into a puma again running in the forest.

They started started get pass, Shadow and Shade pass first, Sonic touch the waterfall and didn't know why but he didn't wanted to pass. "Shady!" Sonic called, "What?" Shadow asked, "Help me pass?" Sonic asked, "Pwease ... I don't know why but I don't want to pass alone" said Sonic looking down. Shadow pass back and went to Sonic, Sonic smiled and hugged him. "Alright lets just go" said Shadow, Tails pass the waterfall. Shadow grabbed Sonic's hand but Sonic pulled it away, "Piggyback ride" said Sonic, "Why?" Shadow asked, "It's more fun" said Sonic smiling, "No" said Shadow. Sonic lowered his ears and looked at Shadow, "That won't work" he said. Sonic looked down sad, Shadow rolled his eyes, "Fine" said Shadow. "Yay!" Sonic started to jump, Sonic got behind Shadow but he couldn't jump high enough he was a bit smaller than Shadow. "Shady your too high" said Sonic, Shadow crouch down and Sonic hugged his neck. Shadow grabbed his leg and picked him up, "This is so much fun" Sonic cuddle to Shadow's quills. Shadow blush and pass by the waterfall, Shade looked at them, "Don't ask" said Shadow. Shade continue to walk, Tails was scared he couldn't see much, he tried to look for Sonic and grabbed Shade's arm. Shade looked at him and rolled his eyes but keep walking, Shadow keep Sonic still piggyback ride, "Thanks Shady" said Sonic laying his head on Shadow's, Shadow didn't say anything he just keep walking searching for the exit with Shade. When they went out Tails saw it was Shade and quickly let him go, "I'm sorry" he said a bit scared, Shade looked away from him. Shadow then settle Sonic down, "Artemis did not mention this" said Shade, Shadow and Sonic looked at the big maze that was around. "Well this is ... most unusual" said Shadow, "What village makes a maze just to get to the kingdom?" Tails asked. "No worried we will make it to the maze you'll see" said Sonic, "Just stay close" said Shadow then ground started to shake and there appeared more walls separating them 4 from each other. "Sonic?! are you okay?" Shadow asked, "I'm okay" said Sonic, "Guys now I am truly scawed" said Tails. "Relax all we have to do is pass this thing and make it to the village" said Shade, "Okay meet you their" said Sonic running to find the way out, Shadow walked around he used his seances to find the way out as well as Shade, Tails walked slowly he use to remember playing the game but it seemed easier. Sonic keep running and started to laugh because he trip and almost fall then he saw a opening that was like a room, "Ohhh this is cool" said Sonic. Shadow was passing through the the walls he notice some weren't real he had different seances and notice one was close he continue to walk. Sonic started to play with some flowers in the wall of that wide open room, Sonic then geared something. Sonic looked beside him and saw a black guy with yellow eyes, Sonic pulled out a flower and showed him, "Flower?" Sonic asked sweetly. The guy slapped Sonic's face, Sonic backed up and rubbed his cheek he looked at him sad, "Why you slap me?" he asked, Sonic eyes widen as the guy almost punch him but Sonic moved and punch the guys chest but nothing happen on the contrary the guy pushed him away. Sonic was scared he shoot a beam at him but it went through him. He started to run having the guy behind him trying to hurt him, "Go away!" Sonic yelled, the guy didn't only tried to punch Sonic he also threw things at him and shoot beams and orbs. Sonic manage to dodge most he made a quick turn and fall on the ground, Sonic cover his head the guy was right behind him. He raised his arm and was about to slash Sonic but Sonic quickly react and moved away. Sonic manage to get up and continue to run, Shadow pass by some things and looked at his side as he saw something running his direction. It was Sonic he looked frighten and quickly jump on Shadow hugging him neck not wanting to let go, "Shady! Shady! His attacking me" said Sonic he looked up and Shadow, Shadow tilt his head. Shadow looked back where Sonic was coming from and there was nothing, Shadow push Sonic aside a little and was going to head that way but Sonic grabbed his hand and shook his head fast. "Sonic their is nothing the-" Shadow looked closer and saw a orb heading their way, Shadow pulled Sonic close and got on his back protecting Sonic. Sonic grabbed Shadow's shirt tight, the orb hit his back, Shadow glared at the black guy that was heading their way. "He tried to hurt me" said Sonic, Shadow let go of Sonic and started to attack the black guy but he was blocking Shadow and fought back. The black guy punched him hard making Shadow hit the wall, "Shadow!" Sonic ran to him and helped him up. Shadow quickly got up and shoot a thunder at him making him explode. Shadow rubbed the back of his head, he looked over at Sonic. Sonic was rubbing his wrist it hurt him since he tried to hit the guy but it only hurt him, Sonic sob a little. Shadow stop rubbing his head and went to Sonic, he offered his hand so Sonic could give him his wrist. Sonic gave Shadow his wrist, Shadow rubbed it making Sonic's pain go away.

Sonic started at his wrist while Shadow rubbed it, he blush a little and smiled at Shadow. Shadow looked at him and blush as well, "It was just a bit swollen but it's calm now" said Shadow. Sonic kissed his cheek, "Thank you" said Sonic. Shadow started to walk and grabbed Sonic's hand, Sonic saw that this time it wasn't him the one grabbing Shadow's hand and was glad. Tails keep walking he was bumping into dead ends, "I'm never getting out" said Tails leaning against a wall and feel over, "What the-? Fake walls?" Tails asked as he went trough and then started to search around for more fake walls. Shade was the first one out and saw Artemis, "Artemis!" he called going to her, "You seemed to have gotten out faster than the others" said Artemis, "Yes my instincts are stronger" said Shade, "Are they?" she asked, "Yes" said Shade. "Try again but this time where your friends are" said Artemis, Shade looked at the maze he detected Sonic and Shadow together and Tails that was the closes to the exit. "Tails is the mortal who has company you and the one who won't make it out" said Artemis, "Why is that?" Shade asked, "I know you despise mortals from all the mistakes they have made but have you looked at your mistakes aren't any different from the mortals" said Artemis. Shade didn't say anything, "I learned that the hard way Shade, only difference is I didn't have the chance to chose but I'm giving it to you, you can head back and help the little child or let him die here" said Artemis. "That is not my mission" said Shade crossing his arms, Tails was passing wall to wall he had the trick in his hands, but then he found himself with a wall that wasn't passable there was a little puzzle on the ground, "Oh this is easy" said Tails as he started to move the pieces and then the door open, "I'm almost at the exit" said Tails glad. Then Tails realized he made a wrong turned and turned around, there was nothing just a door blocking his way, Tails tried to find a way out but couldn't he was blocked. Tails tried to get out but couldn't, "Help! Someone get me out please!" Tails called since he was trap. Tails sat in the side of the place he was scared he heard something, it looked like a dong but it was some kind of demon with no face just a mouth with sharp teeth with long claws, and it looked like it was skin alive. Tails felt like he was going to get a heart attack he moved slowly it seemed the demon creature couldn't see. Tails moved slowly and then moved a rock but it barely made a sound, the demon creature looked over at Tails. Tails moved the other way as the demon went in direction he heard the noise, Tails started to tear up. He was so frighten and there was no way out he knew this was the end even if he did call for help. Tails tried to walk slowly to the other side as far away from the demon as possible, Tails started to sob and sniff he couldn't stop for a reason. The demon detected Tails and went directly to him he started to run, Tails was frighten the demon was chasing after him. Then Tails was corner by it on the side of the wall, Tails whine he closed his eyes tight and the was a flash, Tails keep his eyes closed a long time and when he notice nothing happen he opened them and saw that the demon was knocked out. "Huh?" Tails asked confused and saw Shade at the other side, Tails felt such a strong happiness he smiled and ran to Shade. Shade notice he took a few steps back but Tails hugged his waist, "Shade! You saved me!" Tails cuddle to his waist. "Get off me kid!" Shade tried to push Tails off him, Tails then let go. "Oh sorry I forgot" said Tails, Shade was leading Tails out of the maze. Tails then grabbed Shade's shirt and started to tug on it, "What?" Shade asked, "Will you be my big brother?" Tails asked. "Don't get your hope is kid, what happen doesn't change anything" said Shade.

Shadow and Sonic were out waiting for Shade and Tails, "Shade! Tails your okay!" Sonic ran to them he quickly hugged Tails. Tails hugged him back, "Sonic" he whisper, Artemis smiled at Shade, "You do the right thing" she said. Shade just turned away, "Your almost to the village follow me" said Artemis as she took them. After that hard maze, "From here on we say goodbye my friends you have no need for me now" said Artemis, "Will we ever see you again?" Sonic asked, "We are all connected Sonic you will always see me" she said as she disappeared. Sonic looked around to see here she was but she was gone, "Well it looks like we are on our own now" said Tails. Sonic saw something not too far and grabbed Shadow's arm dragging him, "Look Shady look look!" said Sonic. Shade and Tails followed not far behind, they were now looking at the village, "Wow this face looks amazing" said Sonic. All the hour were made fine with cement and the castle was looked amazing gray with it's blue details. Sonic and Shadow looked around, "This looks great" said Tails, "Yay we are finally here" Sonic grabbed both Shadow's hand and spin around with him exited. "There we have to go to the castle" said Shade. They all walked through the village looking around most houses were closed and places. They made it to the front gate when a guard stop them, "Halt who goes there?" asked the guard, "We are the 3 gods that the king has asked for" said Sonic. The guard chuckled because he didn't believe them, "Very funny kids but that's nothing to mess with that stuff" said the guard as he was pushing Sonic away with his gun. Shadow grabbed the gun and smashes it with his hand, "Do you believe me now?" asked Shadow glaring at him, "You your telepa- My apologies young gods" said the guard bowing. "We want to speak with the king" said Shade, "Yes right away" said the guard.
