 Eternally Broken

"Uncle Chuck what are you doing here?" Sonic ask surprise, "This hidden castle holds so many secret Sonic..... Secrets I have even keep away from everyone my hole life and even you" said Chuck, EXE glared at Chuck with his dead eyes. "Secrets?" Sonic ask, "You weren't the only star babies born, before you, Shadow and Shade there was us and Jules but after the terrible incident everything was erased as if it never happen" said Chuck. "You even believed it yourself Chuck, you forgot your origin to make it easy on you, you even wanted to forget the fact that you had a brother to take away your sorrow your even worse than I am" said EXE, Chuck stood there silent glaring at EXE but all that wasn't a lie he remember doing all those things and how he hid it all. "How you can speak to my uncle that way he is not a monster" said Sonic, "You don't know that he's only shown the side he wants you to see. You have only see his success and good deeds, but have you seen his failures and sins?" EXE looked back at Sonic, Sonic looked over at Chuck, "But uncle Chuck would never..." Sonic teared up. "I guess I was right you aren't that different from Jules, he use to be the same way he always did try to cover all my failures with my success but it was never enough" said EXE. Sonic gasp "Your.... Your the other one aren't you?" Sonic ask, "Xander the pink star" said Chuck. "He's dead, he died a long time ago everything he was is gone now!" EXE said. "You been living in that shadow for so long Xander let it all go so you can finally be set free from your hatred from your self" said Chuck. "This world has broken me in ways you could never understand, Jules was the closes to me he was the friend I always wanted and even more than that" said EXE. "Jules wanted to keep this world safe so he sacrifice himself" said Chuck, "Enough! I will not hear any excuses you can not justify me nor anyone you took the life of your brother and now I will take yours!" Said EXE as his hand showed a black orb. Jules made a blue diamond appear on his forehead identical to Sonic's. "Reconsider your sins" said Chuck, "Die!" EXE shot a black beam, Chuck moved around, he appear next to EXE and punch him across the face. EXE return the punch as strong as that one and then kicked him away, "Crystal pierce!" EXE made two crystal sharp come out of his wrist and charge at Chuck trying to cut him but Chuck manage to block one but he was stab in the shoulder by the other one. "ACK!" He quickly slap him with a orb pushing him away, "This will be like old time" EXE smirk spitting blood out of his mouth.

"Shadow .... All this time I thought you truly left me" said Sonic healing him as the tears fall from his cheek. "You'll always be a troublemaker, how can I leave you alone?" Shadow ask looking at him. Sonic stop sobbing and looked at him in the eyes, "Those eyes...." Sonic said as he saw like a diamond shape in his eye a bit lighter than the red and it was covering his pupils. "This eyes? It's strange how I got this eyes but soon you'll find out" he chuckled a bit weakly. "But why? Why lie to me?" Sonic ask, "Because I thought you hated me but I guess that was just my mistake .... I knew you were never capable of hating but I stood there like a coward hidden" said Shadow. Suddenly they both felt the tension of the battle, Shadow sat up fully healed. "Sonic, Chuck can not handle this battle alone not even us can stand up to him alone" said Shadow, "Then what do we do?" Sonic ask. "There are possibilities we can win but it's a slight possibility" said Shadow as he stared as the fight going on between Chuck and EXE. Chuck used his Diamond Blaster but it didn't hit EXE, EXE used his own dark blast after that, Chuck tried to block it but was blown back. "ugh!" He broke a wall falling back into another room, he quickly moved aside as EXE almost stab him. Chuck then kicked him hard on the face and grab him by the quills smashing him against the wall which were crystals and they broke. It was a bloody banquet as they battle for survival and death, "You like to fight rough" EXE said grabbing his head and smashing him on the ground made a line as he scrub Chuck and blasted him. EXE thought that would create a good amount of damage he clear some blood off his face and approach Jules. Jules appear behind him and blasted his back "Mystic beam!" He yelled his face was all cut and he had one eye shut, "I will not let you win this battle EXE, this world is not to blame for what happen years ago!" Chuck yelled. "I'm not only doing this for revenge...." He said getting up and glared at Chuck, "You don't know anything" said EXE said as his quills began to stick up and his eyes turned pure white. "YOU WILL NEVER KNOW!" He yelled as he blasted Chuck back to the room. "Uncle Chuck!" Sonic called as he was going towards him but Shadow spot him by grabbing his arm, "No Sonic" he said. "But... Uncle Chuck" Sonic said looking at Shadow, Shadow shook his head. Chuck panted and looked over at EXE, "Xander...." Chuck stared at him and remember him how he use to be and their time together, "Why? Why did this all become so.... Wrong?" Chuck whisper trying to get up. "We use to laugh all together and have a good time but it feels like .... It feels like moments and memories that only live in my memory because if not... Who else would be able to? Who else would be able to hold onto them and not leave them in the dust?" Chuck ask himself. EXE approach Chuck, "You were never no match for me even for this mortals you have sacrifice much of yourself to even become one of them" said EXE. "Stop! Don't hurt him!" Sonic yelled, EXE looked over at Sonic, "No Sonic don't...." Chuck said. "It seems he thinks he can make me change my mind" said EXE as he went to approach them, Shadow quickly got in front of Sonic. "You dare touch him and you will regret everything" said Shadow growling at him, EXE stop in front of them. "You act tough now but not long ago you were in the floor struggling to keep yourself conscious what makes you think you can stand up to me now?" EXE ask, "Cause I will protect him even if it means having to die for him" said Shadow. "Dying the cowards way out" said EXE as he grab Shadow by the neck threw him hard aside making him break walls, "Shadow!" Sonic called as he slowly disappear into the hole. "Let's see how long it take him to stop but in the mean time you're yo next" said EXE as he was creating a orb in his hand with all the power he had. "I won't let you take him away from me Xander..... He's the only thing I have left of Jules" thought Chuck getting up and walking over to them as much as he could. "I could have done the same thing you're doing, but a light showed up" said Chuck.

(Flashback)
"Without brown star or pink star the trio is incomplete and broken there is nothing I can do about it. But I can make something out of it" said Zeus, Chuck stared up at Zeus curiously. "Your brother made a sacrifice that many did not knew was to save the world and its mortals, but in his honor I shall recreate him. He shall be reborn as the son of Aleena and the new blue star" said Zeus as he reach out and the image was shown of a purple hedgehog holding a little baby hedgehog that looked. "He looks just like him.... Jules.." Chuck felt so happy about his little brother being reborn. "Is he like my nephew or something?" Chuck ask curiously, "Hmmm? You can put it that way if it makes you feel better" Zeus chuckled as the change the other two "Now Pink star will be change to red star and brown star will now be purple star" said Zeus as the colors were change completely. "Who are the other two stars?" Chuck ask, "I shall give the star positions to the sons of Doom, Shadow and Shade" he said showing the image of the twin baby hedgehogs. "Zeus I want you to be honest with me.... What are the possibilities of all this happening again?" Chuck ask. "...." Zeus keep silence and continue to look at the new stars, "I will not say only time can tell" said Zeus. Chuck eyes widen as he remember the face of his brother coughing up blood and falling back, "No I will not let that happen again... I will protect him he is the only thing I have left now" thought Chuck as the tears lightly slide down a cheek.
(End of flashback)

"I WILL NOT LET YOU TAKE HIM AWAY!" Chuck yelled as he pierce his fist through EXE's chest. Sonic's eyes widen as the blood touch his face, "Ugh!" EXE looked back at Chuck and kicked hi back he turn around showing the hole that Chuck had created. "See how empty I am? Not even a heart could grow in me anymore it's sad" he said as he barely felt like it hurt. Chuck panted and fainted in the moment, "You never stood a chance just like the rest, all of this was meant to happen and nothing was avoided" said EXE. "Uncle Chuck!" Sonic called reaching out for him but quickly stood back from EXE, "He is no longer anyone's concern" he raised a hand towards Sonic but he then felt the strange power as he looked over and quickly grab the first that almost hit him it belonged to Shadow who was still there fighting. "Red star it seems the power is reaching you as well, you seem to really care for blue star" said EXE. "I admit that my heart does not reach many things but if there is one thing I know is that I won't let anything or anyone touch him" said Shadow freeing his hand and moving back. "Oh really so your doing this for him and not the world?" EXE ask curiously, "This world doesn't really matter to me but I don't find it fear either that it has to pay for a mistake that happen years ago" said Shadow. "Your no different from what I use to be Shadow, and for the look in those eyes I see your close to the same process of becoming what I am" said EXE, Shadow eyes widen a bit gasping lightly. "I am nothing like you!" Shadow yelled, "But you will be Shadow it's in your blood this was meant to happen like how it happen years ago, join me Shadow and avoid all the pain and suffering of becoming what I am" said EXE. "..." Shadow looked over at Sonic who was staring at him, "I have made the mistake of making a bad choice years ago and it only hurt the ones I love the most to the point that.... I feel my connection with my only brother is farther than I imagine. I appreciate the offer but I do things my way" said Shadow, "Very well then I shall do you a favor and take you out now" said EXE as he revealed a arm cover in a shadow and created three sharp claws he charged at Shadow but quickly stop as he saw a purple beam head his way.

EXE growled and saw another hedgehog similar to Shadow land next him but this one had purple stripes. "I guess our connection is not that far yet" said Shade smiling at Shadow, Shadow was surprise that he showed up and nod in agreement returning the smile. "So this is pink star? I expected something different but it seems we will have to deal with him together" said Shade. "Huh?" Shadow ask, "Us three must battle Xander it's the only way the power of three will be too much for him to handle and so what else can we do?" Shade, "agree!" Sonic said getting next to Shadow. "You all can not defeat me" said EXE, "Nothing is un beatable" said Shade as the three charged at EXE. "Mystic Beam!" Sonic yelled shooting a blue beam. "Chaos Spear!" Shadow yelled using his famous attack, "Sharp Disk" Shade created two purple disk throwing them to EXE, EXE easily dodge them. "Dream Blaster!" Sonic yelled as his diamond appeared in the middle of his head, and he shot the beam at EXE. "Wait...." Sonic began to think for a moment, "Guy wait I think it's time" Sonic quickly grab Shadow and Shade's hand. "I don't know if you know this but I feel like we have done something like this in another life.... The power of three will destroy what EXE is" Sonic explained. "How does this work?" Shade ask, "Think about what we are and remember what Pink star use to be" said Sonic closing his eyes, Shadow and Shade were a bit skeptical but they did so as well. As they concentrated they found out something very internal in them, "Xander had dreams" said Sonic, "He holds the truth with in him" said Shade. "And he has ideals" said Shadow, "Together we shall combine" Sonic said they were going in a pattern in seemed as one said something and the other followed the sentence. "The ability to become one again" said Shade, "And understand that nothing is changeable" Shadow said. "Fools" EXE began to create his own blast but the diamonds began to appear on Sonic, Shadow, and Shade's head protected them from this blast. "What how is this possible? I am stronger" said EXE, Sonic, Shadow, and Shade open their eyes as the diamonds alone began to create a blast together and shoot at EXE. EXE closed his eyes tightly when he opened them he saw he was in a white room "Uhh?" EXE looked around to see a image in front of him "...?" He tried to look harder. "Chuck..." He finally said noticing the image was clearly him, the Jewels went next to Chuck placing a hand on his shoulder and so they turned around walking away leaving EXE behind. EXE watch them as they slowly left leaving him behind, "......" He keep his silence but in his silence he understood what this meant.

EXE cough blood and struggle on the ground "He's down and we have to make sure he stays like that" said Shade, "How do you expect we do that?" Shadow ask. "The chaos emerald can seal him clearly using a bit of its power" said Shade. "We don't have the chaos emeralds here" Shadow said, "It's hidden in this chamber the red one we need to snatch it fast" said Shade as he began to blast the walls looking for the Emerald. Sonic help as well as Shadow, "Do you think you've done good?" EXE ask lowly. They looked at him but then ignore him and continue to look for the chaos emerald, "I was just trying to avoid for the same thing to happen" said EXE, Sonic perk his ears and changed his attention to EXE. Shadow only listen not looking back, "The world will repeat the same thing over and I want to avoid it... Do you think you have done right now?" EXE ask. Sonic keep silent staring at him, "Uncle Chuck...." he then turn to stare at him still on the ground. "Gone.... Just like Jewels .... I saw it and I saw how they left and I shall not reunite with them ever again" said EXE, Sonic lower his ears and teared up a bit. "The chaos emerald is here!" Shade said grabbing it, "Hurry all of you come here and let us reverse the damage" said Shade. Shadow and Sonic nod as they place their hand on the chaos emerald and began to concentrate. "So is this how it all ends?..." EXE ask closing his eyes as he began to loose his form and so the place wasn't going to last either. The chaos emerald was absorbing all the crystals everything in the way. The crystals were being easily sucked in clearing everything and reversing all of Sonic's wishes. Everything had gone back to normal or so it was to be.

When they open their eyes they saw that they were in the castle that was destroy as it was before Sonic made his wish. "Everything is back to normal" said Shade, "...." Sonic got up and walked looking outside, Shadow stared at him for a moment. Sonic perk his ears and looked back at Shadow and Shade. They both didn't say a word, Sonic lower his ears a bit and sob. Shadow and Shade approach Sonic side to side and tried to comfort the hedgehog on his new lost. "It's alright Sonic... We are still here with you" said Shadow.

Knuckles gain the chaos emerald but Julie Su was gone, "She must have sneaked off again... Everything is back to normal I guess they found a way once more" Knuckles smiled looking at the exterior. He began to walk into the city "I wonder if Rouge and my girl are home" he thought as he continue to walk.
