Chapter Aesthetics:
💮💮💮
Two months later
"I can't believe the summer's over," Natalie who's lying on her stomach, flipping through a Cosmopolitan magazine, groans.
"And college is starting," I add.
"Kill me with a spoon," Scarlet shrieks as she hangs upside down from a lounge chair.
All three of us are in my apartment, binge watching Gossip Girl again on Natalie's insistence- having lost interest, we let the episodes roll on as we procrastinate.
"According to Cosmo," Natalie starts for the one millionth time, "If you flip your hair in front of a guy, instead of finding you attractive he will be more inclined to friend zone you."
"Bullshit," Scarlet screams while reaching out for another soda, "I've always flipped my hair when I'm around a guy and look at me."
"Look at you," I scoff, "Boyfriend less loser who hasn't had a single date all summer."
"Shut up" She retorts as Natalie breaks down in laughter, "We can't all have our love life settled and done with like you Amy."
That makes me visibly stiffen. As if realizing what she has just said, Scarlet gasps. "I didn't mean it like- I'm so sorry Amy,"
I give her a tight smile, "it's okay don't worry about it,"
It's not okay.
"Are you sure?"
"Duh," I roll my eyes nonchalantly at her and watch as slowly she and Natalie get into a conversation about how they plan on picking up guys in college.
Truth is- I haven't at all thought about the whole marriage ordeal. Zayn texted me a total of two times in two months, both times simply asking me if I'm alright or how I'm doing. I'd reply with a yes, or a just settling in, he'd proceed to tell me about his university and summer school and that would be that. Dead end conversations, how I hated them.
However, I've thought about the Seid ordeal a lot. Like a lot. Sharing an apartment with my idiotic future brother in law couldn't sound less appealing but then again like Scarlet pointed out, how bad could it possibly be? We don't even have to see each other, just go about our lives, ignoring the other. I'm sure he'd appreciate that seeing as he doesn't seem to really like me much. And I don't like him at all. He's a lame excuse for a man-
"Stop frowning-" a large pillow is thrown at my face.
"Ow!" I glare at Natalie.
"Cosmo says, the more often you frown, the quicker you get wrinkles."
Scarlet snorts from her chair, her eyes glued to her cell phone.
"What're you laughing at?"
"Talking to an old friend," she says quickly.
