Gabriel's POV
I scowled. Looking at the guard. If he was fucking with me, he's fired. I'm not here for the jokes.
"Leave."
The guard exited. I didn't want to hear anymore bullshit until I know for sure.
I sighed and pressed my hands to my head.
After a while of thinking, I abruptly stood up. I opened up a hidden safe in my office, and pulled out the delicately covered weapon. It was a dagger crafted out of celestial silver, which is different from normal silver. The handle was made out of carved wood, encrusted with jewels.
Celestial silver is probably the most harmful element to all species. All except one because it was created by those celestial beings in the first place. If I were to touch the blade, my skin would burn, and my whole body will erupt in pain.
Holding the weapon in my hands, I slowly walked into my room. Adeline lay on the bed in the same position. She looked so fragile, and broken. It hurt to see my mate lying on the bed, unconscious. But, even in this moment, she was still beautiful.
I was risking her a great amount of pain by doing this. But, if the guard was right...
It was a fifty-fifty chance. She burns or she doesn't burn.
I stuck the blade out to touch her skin, and her eyes opened. She gasped in horror, and her eyes instantaneously became watery when she saw the blade above her.
"Oh my god." She whispered.
A loud scream escaped her and she moved away from me on the bed.
"Don't hurt me! Please! I didn't see anything. I'm so sorry that I bother you a lot! I won't do it again, I promise!" She held her arms out in front of her as a protective shield.
Eli burst into the room, along with a few other servants, my father, and people in the castle.
"What the hell are you doing Gabriel? Put down the weapon!" Eli yelled.
I ignored Eli and went on with the task at hand.
"Adeline, I'm not going to hurt you, relax. I just want you to do one thing, touch the blade." I whispered in her ear.
She nodded, trusting me.
"Are you fucking crazy- Eli began.
"Shut the fuck up!" I yelled at Eli.
"Adeline, can you touch this?"
She held out her shaky arm, and slowly moved it towards the shiny blade. She looked at the people in the room, before her fingers finally made contact with the celestial silver. I looked at her for a reaction. There was none. The guard was right.
Everyone in the room gasped, understanding the situation.
Addie's eyes widened as she stared at everyone in the room, confused and terrified. Her lips parted, and she looked up at me. It was impossible to miss the small tremble of her lips. She was getting scared.
I wanted to do nothing more, but to embrace her in my arms, and tell her that she is going to be alright. I didn't want to see my mate sad and terrified.
