Coronation Day
Adeline's POV
I wasn't allowed out of my room for the whole week. Gabriel wouldn't let Eli visit me either, so I was left alone in the room with nothing to do. I spent my time either sleeping or gazing out the window pointlessly.
The only interaction I had this past week was with the person who brings me my "food", which consists of stale bread and cold soup.
Bruises coated my body from the one time my body erupted in pain due to the mate bond. I know pretty well, that he has heard my screams from that night of pain he put me through by cheating, but hes too high in his head to care. The mark on my neck healed, leaving only a faint scar where he bit me.
While I was alone in that room, I've had a lot of time to think about what the prophecy means. Until I came to realization that part of it was coming true. I recalled the first line the lady told me.
Neglected dove fights it's love.
I didn't understand what it meant by the dove, but If the prophecy was actually about me, there sure is a fight with my love who can only seem to neglect me. Maybe the dove was about me being an angel and all. It was probably just a coincidence. I've been in denial with the fact that I could be and angel and that the prophecy was true.
Currently, I was lying on the bed tossing Mr. Sparkles in the air repeatedly, and trying to catch him before he fell smack dab on my face. At least it was more entertaining than staring at the ceiling all day.
I threw him in the air.
I caught him.
I threw him in the air.
I caught him.
I threw him in the air.
A loud scream escaped my lips as I felt the pain start up again.
The bear fell on my body and clutched onto it tightly, trying to get rid of my pain.
It hurt so much. My eyes watered as I shut them tightly. I squeezed onto Mr. Sparkles, my fingers digging into the bear and creating a tear in the fabric.
I continued to scream for what felt like forever before it finally stopped. I lay on the bed, breathing hard, trying not to move my aching limbs.
I couldn't live like this.
The doors to my room flew open abruptly, and I was met with a shirtless Gabriel, wearing a pair of sweatpants that hung lowly on his torso. You could see sweat lingering on his body as he strode into my room, carrying a huge ball gown. He dropped it on a chair in the side of the bedroom, and he turned towards me.
"Today's my coronation, so get ready. You have about an hour."
He turned around to leave the room.
"I can feel it you know. How can you do this to me?" I said.
Gabriel turned around.
"Feel what?"
"You know exactly what."
Gabriel just smirked. Using his vampire speed, Gabriel was on top of me in less than a second. He traced his finger along the curve of my hip and leaned into my neck.
"You should enjoy it, cause I sure do." He whispered huskily. He got off me and used his vampire speed to get to the door.
"Get ready quick." He said, slamming the door behind him.
Angrily, I threw Mr. Sparkles at the door because he was the only thing near me at the moment.
"Fuck you!" I swore.
Mr. Sparkles collided with a door, and as it fell, I caught the glimpse of a shiny object falling out of the hole I made in him earlier.
I stood up and walked to the door. Under Mr. Sparkles was a necklace on a faded golden chain. I picked it up and stared the simple pink stone in the middle, shaped like a heart.
The heart of stone is the key.
I recalled the prophecy almost immediately, and I dropped the necklace on the ground in shock.
I reached inside the teddy bear and felt around. My hands grasped the edges of a piece of paper. I swiftly pulled it out, and unfolded it.
I recognized the sloppy handwriting of my father and a faint smile crossed my face as I remembered the memory of him. I slowly began to read.
Addie,
I know, if you are reading this, I'm most likely dead, or else, I would have been there to explain it myself. I'm sure you found the necklace also hidden in the teddy bear. I'm also sure that you've discovered what you are by now. I need you to keep this necklace safe. It's yours now, and it is very important. This necklace serves as a key and a guide, and when the time comes, you'll know how to use it.
- Father
I sucked in a deep breath as I learned the new information. My thoughts were interrupted as I heard a knock on the door.
"Miss, I was called to see if you needed any help getting ready." The servant, Anna, said from outside.
"I think I'll be okay by myself, you can go." I said before getting up to get ready.
I could hear the servant walking away as I went over to the dress.
I knew I should, but I couldn't tell Gabriel anything. It's not like he cared anyways.
The dress was large and white with a tint of pink in the fabric. Jewels encrusted the bodice, and it slipped onto my frame snugly.
When I was done I glance over at the necklace and the letter. Grabbing the necklace, I unclasped the clasp before hooking it around my neck.
