"Amelia, are you feeling better?" Kriti asked Amelia as she handed her a bottle of water.
"Not really, but thanks so much for taking care of me you guys." Amelia expressed her gratitude for her alliance members. The night before she wasn't feeling so well so she decided to take a walk, which Amy wasn't too enthusiastic about but she let her go. She then witnessed Ricky get brutally and publicly executed by Timtam. She managed to get away just before they noticed her and she got home.
She cried for hours, and Kriti and Amy comforted her, but they were quite honestly not too bothered by Ricky's death. Yes, it shook them up and made them feel uncomfortable but they didn't really care, and they didn't understand why Amelia did.
But when Amelia woke up the morning after, she was feeling terrible. She told Amy and Kriti she was feeling weak, had a headache and a stomachache and promptly threw up on Amy. After she cleaned herself off, they cared for Amelia until now, when Amy thought they needed to continue discussing their plan. They discussed it for about an hour until night fell on the group and Amy decided she would try stealing something from the cornucopia again.
"Okay Amy, go, but I still think we need to get the fabric so I can make a bear costume and distract them." Kriti repeated herself for the thousandth time. Amy and Amelia just laughed again and continued preparing.
"Wait, Amy." Amelia called out just as she began walking to the very edge of the forest. "Be careful." She warned her and smiled. Amy smiled back and ran to the edge.
Just as she expected, there was someone on patrol. They already knew from watching the cornucopia that Max was dead and Amelia had told them that Ricky was also dead, so that only left Yash and Michael to be on patrol. Yash was the only one on patrol, as Amy assumed Michael was sleeping as he patrolled their base.
So Amy once again waited for her small two minute window of opportunity while Yash was behind the cornucopia to run. Just in case, she timed it again before he came around. Just as she expected, it was just over two minutes. So as he did another full lap she prepared.
Just before he was out of sight she sprinted out into the open towards the cornucopia. She ran so fast she was worried she would fall forwards. Halfway there she felt a stitch growing in her side but she ignored it and kept running. If her counting was correct, and she wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't, she had ten seconds left as she reached the cornucopia. She ducked underneath a table, next to Michael who slept not so peacefully. She waited for Yash to once again make a full lap before taking her two minutes to find what she needed.
She frantically yet silently rummaged around in their supplies. She stuffed a few throwing knives, a bag of quality food and some rope into her bag, before returning to her hiding place as Yash made his way around once again. After he was out of sight she threw any other miscellaneous things she thought would be useful to them or the plan and was about to hide before she noticed some medicine at the back. She took it, hoping it would help Amelia. She swiftly ducked underneath the table and waited for Yash to leave.
But he didn't. In fact, he began walking towards her. What was he doing? Was he getting food? Switching shifts with Michael? Had he noticed her? She realized it must have been the last one when she noticed her red bag strap as sticking out of the side of the table.
He was still a good bit away so she underneath a sack of fruits, and it concealed her strangely well. She left the backpack there to make it less suspicious. When he arrived her heart was beating so loud she was surprised he didn't immediately pinpoint her location. Instead he began leaving and going back to his patrol. She swiftly grabbed her bag and made a break for it.
She burst into the fastest sprint of her life, but came to an immediate stop when she felt a hand firmly wrap around her wrist. She turned and watched Yash hold a knife towards her, with her trapped underneath his hand. They stared into each others eyes and Amy awaited her punishment.
But it never came. Instead he released her from his grasp and she stared at him. He didn't say anything and she didn't dare, so before he changed his mind she ran back to her base and Yash watched her.
"So? How did it go?" Amelia queried excitedly as she saw Amy return.
"Good. I got knives, rope, food, some random stuff and medicine for you." Amy recited her list. Amelia smiled and then they began treating Amelia with the medicine.
"I forgot to tell you guys. Something strange happened. I was running back here, and Yash caught me." Amy began, and was cut off by an anxious and scared Amelia.
"Oh my god!" She exclaimed, covering her mouth with her hands in shock and fear.
"And he just stared at me, then let me go." Amy said. Kriti and Amelia looked at her with bewilderment. "Then I ran back here. It was the strangest thing." Amelia and Kriti decided not to read into it so much, but Amy stayed awake most of the night because of it.
And in the middle of the night, a metal parcel fell from the sky and landed directly next to Amy. She was cautious, as there was writing on it, saying: "FOR THE EYES OF AMY MAREE MCWILLIAMS ONLY".
She slowly approached it and removed the lid. There was a small piece of paper in it.
It read: "Amelia is not the only one who's gonna need protection when it comes down to battle. If you ditch that bitch you will get a crate of all the supplies you will need for weeks."
