During the night I don't fall asleep again, and when I get up to go eat breakfast, I accidentally wake Newt.
His eyes slowly open. "Love? You okay?"
"I'm fine, just going to eat. Go back to sleep, you've got time left."
He looks at my face and says "did you even sleep? You look exhausted."
I shake my head. "Nope." I start walking towards the door.
He sits up and says "are you feeling okay?"
"I'm fine." I walk out of the hut and go to the homestead to eat.
Minho approaches me and says "hey Coyote, you feeling okay?"
I nod and bite into my food. "Perfectly fine." Other than the fact that I am apparently half dog.
"Did you sleep okay? You look exhausted?"
I shake my head. "I slept for about two hours. At the most."
"Everything okay?"
I sigh and say "I had a memory dream."
"What did you remember?" I can see by the expression on his face he hopes it was something that could help get us out.
"Nothing helpful. I remembered that I've got a brother, and I remembered another name."
"What's the name?"
I sigh again and say "Alyssa."
"Alyssa?"
I nod. "That's my name."
"And a brother?"
I nod again. "The new greenie, Chuck."
"You're related to the greenie?"
"Why is that surprising?"
He shrugs. "It just kinda is."
I quickly eat my breakfast then go to get ready to run. Minho hands me a knife, but I look at my hand, remembering that I have claws. I hand the knife back to him and say "I'm good."
He looks at me with disbelief. "You don't want a knife? What if you run into a Griever? How are you gonna cut vines? If you die Newt will kill me. Take the knife."
Not wanting to reveal my claws, I take the knife and hide it in my backpack. We go and wait by the doors, and once they open we run in. I run to my section, using m claws to cut vines and stopping for lunch after a few hours. I sit on the ground against the wall and take my sandwich out of my bag. I quickly devour my lunch, then I cut a vine with my claws. I see something behind the vine that causes me to stop. I see the words World In Catastrophe Killzone Experiment Department written on the wall. No, carved into the wall. WICKED. I remember the words that flashed through my head in my memory: WICKED is good. I run my finger along the carving for a second, then put my claw into the hole and trace my finger along the letters. My eyes widen in shock.
It's a perfect fit.
I did this. I've been here.
**A/N I found a chapter I hadn't published on my phone, so here's one chapter to tide everyone over for now. So sorry about the wait
