Newt runs up to me the second the Grievers are gone. "Thank god, you're okay."
I nod. "Yeah, I'm fine."
"I was gonna go over to you but I figured you should've spent that time with your brother, comforting him and stuff."
I nod again. "Well, that's what I did."
Gally walks up to Thomas, punches him across the face, walks over to me, and swings to punch me across the face but I grab his fist.
"Think you're doing something?" My senses momentarily sharpen without my intention, meaning my eyes flashed blue.
"What the hell did you just do? With your eyes?" He glares at me.
"I uh, I wear contacts."
"No you don't."
"Well then nothing happened."
He swings to punch me again, but I grab his fist, push it back at him, then punch him in the stomach.
"You wanna go?" I ball my hands into fists.
"Don't fight," Newt orders.
Gally looks at a couple other people. "Her too."
"What about me?" I ask.
"You're going in the Pit."
"That's not your decision to make," Newt says, stepping in front of me. "I'm in charge now."
"But you're not gonna give her proper punishment because you're too busy staring at her all day!"
"She didn't do anything!"
"She's got something to do with this! You said it yourself!"
"I said it but I was wrong!"
"Were ya? Were ya really? First Ben says she did this, then the girl recognizes her."
"That's about who she was, not who she is."
"Well who she was is dangerous. Just like with Thomas." He looks at his people and says "pit."
I don't fight as the drag me off to the pit, because I can't shake the feeling that he's right.
