Chapter 28: Don't Do This

I looked around the room, Tess sat in my lap and leave against y chest I couldn't see Jade or Tommy, my even Naomi and Joel.

"Where are they?" Tess whispered in my ear over the loud music, almost like she was reading my mind.

"I'm gonna look around the house, check outside for me, babe?" She nodded and got up, gently kissing me before walking off.

I walked around the house, trying to find a familiar face within the sea of faces. I I went through the living room, the kitchen, upstairs downstairs but there was no sign of them. I wondered if we should've came, I noticed a lot of drug use around us and I didn't want Jade to get pressured into anything. I looked over at Joe, the host of the party and there was something about him that thew me off.

My thoughts were interrupted when Tess walked up to me, a worried look on her face as she grabbed my hand. "They're outside..." She mumbled dragging me out of the house.

Jade sat on the floor staring wife eyed into the darkness, Tommy had his arm slung around Naomi, they both looked exhausted. Joel was looking at Jade, eyebrows furrowed like he was trying to figure out what his life was.

"Jade..?" I mumbled crouching in front of her, she looked up at me, eyes widening and she looked terrified. "Jade what's going on?!" She hid her face in her hands and I turned to look at Tommy. "WHAT HAPPENED?!" I yelled. His eyes shot me a hostile look and he took his arm of Naomi who rubbed her temples stressfully.

"If you were around, you would already know" he growled at me, Tess looked to the floor quietly, I knew she felt some sort of guilt.

"Jesus Tommy!" I brushed off his hostility and turned to Naomi. "Can you tell me what happened?" She opened her mouth to speak.

"She's on acid, Brendan" Tommy spoke now, calmly. I turned to face him anger in my eyes, how could he let her do something like that.

"WHAT THE FUCK YOURE SUPPOSED TO BE WATCHIG HER"

"SHE ISNT A BABY BRENDAN, HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW SHED TAKE ACID?!" I watched Naomi slide down next to Jade and wrap her arms around her, I wondered what was going through jades head. "SHES PROBABLY SEEING DRAGONS AND SHIT HOW ARE WE GONNA EXPLAIN THIS TO MA"

"You're worried about explainin it to Ma and not about Jade" Tommy shook his head. "What kind of brother are you?" I pushed him, hard and he stumbled back. Tommy didn't like that and he came at me, grabbing my neck and shoving me against the wall. Tess tried to pull him off but he shoved her away slightly, not hurting her.

"DONT YOU EVER PUT YOUR FUCKING HANDS ON ME" Tommy yelled, and I pushed him off of me. "Go to your fuckin girlfriends house, I don't want to see you" he helped Jade up and began walking to Joels car. Naomi and Joel looked at me with sympathy, but followed them to the car.

I sighed, turning to Tess who held her hand out for me. We walked away from the house an down the street, she didn't love to far off and she could walk home.

"I'm sorry you had to see that..." She shook her head and I wrapped my arm around her shoulder, holding her close to me.

"Don't be sorry, he's just hotheaded" she smiled at me, placing a gentle kiss on my jaw. She leaned her head into my shoulder, relaxing in my arms as we walked. Her mom didn't mind me staying, she loved me in fact, I guess she could tell that I adored her daughter.

I thought about Tommy, wondering why he was so hostile to me. He talked about how I was always wit Tess, that I wasn't around anymore but he didn't understand how much I loved her, I wanted him to find someone and feel like that, it's what he needed.

My mind wandered to Jade who I couldn't stop worrying about. She must've been freaking out and I couldn't do anything about it. If I went home, Tommy and I would just fight more and Jade didn't need that, especially now. I hoped Naomi decided to stay with her, I trusted Jade in her hands.
