Chapter 16: Back Home

We said goodbye to Naomi and Joel who both looked kinda worried, I wondered why. Tommy slung his bag over her shoulder and have Joel a one armed hug and I did the same. Tommy looked over at Naomi and they stared at each other, he hugged her quickly and then pulled away, looking at everything else but her I guess he felt obliged to thank her considering she kept us away from pop for three days. I hugged her too and she hugged back tightly.

Grandma came down the stairs and walked up to me, Tommy an Jade. She cupped Tommy's face, squishing his cheeks slightly and e looked at her. "If you need anything you come and tell grandma ok?" He nodded and then she turned to me, cupping my face like she did Tommy's "you take care of them" I nodded and she kissed my cheek and then he turned to Jade, pulling her into a hug. "You be good sweetie, and my house is always open for you" she smiled at her and nodded. We said goodbye again, but Jade held Naomi in a long hug, I was so gla she had Naomi. Naomi kissed my cheek and then quickly did the same to Tommy who's eyes widened and he grunted before quickly walking out the door. I smiled and walked out with Jade.

I didn't really want to leave, and I was sure Jade and Tommy didn't either, but we had to before Pop and Ma had a mental breakdown. Jade laced her arm into mine walking next to me. Tommy was being weird and kicking the air as he walked.

"Gotta train with pop when we get home" he sighed "I don't really want to"

"so don't" Jade chuckled but tiny just glared at her.

"I gotta if I'm gonna be the champion" he spoke as a matter of factly. We all laughed a little,  but I always felt a sort of jealously, pop never wanted to train me, Tommy was the one, Tommy was the front runner , and I, I was just the underdog.

We walked into the house, Pop wasn't drunk yet and he walked up to us. "There's food your am made on the stove for you" we stared at him, not knowing who this man was. He took Tommy outside to the back with some gloves to begin their training. I served out good for Jade and I and we sat together in the living room. Ma walked downstairs and sat with me and Jade wrapping both of her arms around both of us and siting back.

"You guys had a good time?" She asked, her sweet voice quiet and lovely.

"Yeah" Jade smiled "it was great" Ma looked at me and I nodded with a small smile on my face. He leaned back and we both leaned into her arms as we watched a movie together, something we haven't done in a long time.
